EPISODE-3

"Aren't you curious about why I have bought you here?" He asked while making breakfast for us.

"Nope. I don't like to know things that involve me." I said and he frowned. I'm pretty much very sure he has brought me here for a purpose but I don't want to know about it.

"Sweetheart, there is something you need to do for me." Alastair said and I gritted my teeth in annoyance, as I stared at him.

"What do I need to do for you? I'm just an average student." I replied and he sighed as he sat down on the opposite side of the table.

"Marry me." He blurted out and I almost jumped in my seat. No way in hell that I'm going to marry someone just like this.

"No. Definitely no." I slammed my hands on the dining table.

"Listen to my side of the story first." He said, almost pleading. It Doesn't matter if he kills me right now but I refuse to marry someone I just met.

"No, it's not like that but listen to me. Just listen to me and forget about this." I said as I got my bag and was about to head off but the calling bell rang. I opened the door to find a woman wearing a purple dress and was accompanied by someone.

"Who are you supposed to be and what are you doing here?" She pushed me and entered the house and I was so tempted to just leave this house and never come back.

The collar on my neck still stands and I can’t open it. A collar is a mark of ownership, especially for an omega. When an omega wears a collar that usually means that they belong or are claimed by someone. There was a sharp decline in the population of omegas in the recent decade. That’s why the government revised the laws and eliminated some of them which weren’t in favour of the omegas.

It’s not that I don’t want to escape from here. He claimed me and my unconscious self recognises him as my alpha. Plus I don't have anywhere to go and even if I do escape, my friends can't. I sighed as I closed the door and I plopped down on the couch. I could hear the lady and Alastair arguing in the room but I didn't care. I was watching cartoons when the door slammed open. The woman stormed out of the room and pretty much ignored me. Alastair came out after a few seconds, he sighed as he settled down next to me.

“Who was that by the way?” I asked and somehow I felt bad. I know I shouldn’t poke my nose into his affairs but he looks like he could use a friend.

“You don’t need to worry about this sweetheart. I’ll take care of this.” He smiled at me. I scoffed as I turned my attention back to the television.

“Just who are you to worry about me. You asked me to marry you but you refuse to tell me a single detail.” I shouted at him and he looked surprised.

“So, you are fine with marrying me.” He looked so happy, I now realise I spoke without considering my words. If I refuse now, he’ll be disappointed. His pheromones turn sour when he’s upset and that triggers an almost forgotten memory of mine. The real reason is I don't want him to be disappointed, not in matters involving me.

“Yes, but not getting married or anything. Let’s just date and there are too many things you don’t know about me. After you know everything about me, If you still like me after that, let’s get married.” I said as he laid his head in my lap.

“What do you mean?” He asked. I ran my hands through his hair, massaging his scalp. His hair was dyed in a dark red shade, a very dangerous shade if i say so myself. Because it’s him, he pulled off that handsome-but-dangerous look. If someone else was to copy him, They would be a laughing stock.

“I’m just an ordinary student and I have a dark past. You’ll find it out someday. So, just wait until then.” This game I’m playing with him is very dangerous, like a prey playing around in front of its predator. Any wrong move, I’ll end up being eaten by the predator.

“You want to know who that was, is that it?” He chuckled and I nodded. I know I usually get into trouble for being nosy but my curiosity always gets the better of me.

“That woman is my mother, baby. My father was in love with someone else and my grandparents weren’t happy about this. My father was married to my mother as a part of the deal. My father loves me very much but my mother is a bit strict with me.” He explained and the bell rang for the second time today.

Alastair grumbled as he got up from my lap. I think he’s upset that his peaceful day off was interrupted too many times. He opened the door and there was an unreadable expression on his face.

“Come in, Julian.” He let a tall guy in and wasn’t he the one Leona was dating, someone else followed in behind them.

“DAELYN. Are you alright? He didn’t do anything to you, did he?” I heard Leona’s voice yelling at me from behind them.

I, Leona Ades and Jordyn Fynn are best friends. Me and Jordyn are studying in the same grade and section too. Leona is also in the same grade as us but a different section. I knew she was dating some mysterious guy and Jordyn wouldn’t stop acting like a mother hen. So, I guess Leona knew about Alastair and exodus for a long time. If only Jordyn knew about all of this, I stifled a laugh imagining it.

“You have the audacity to laugh. Do  you know how worried I was when he told me that you were kidnapped,” Leona growled, She and Jordyn are both alphas and I was the odd one out in between them.

“I’m fine and you know what happened and it wasn’t my fault. So, please don’t scold me,” I pleaded and flashed my puppy eyes at her.

“Fine. Since you already know everything, Remember this NOT A WORD TO JORDYN.” She said and Alastair scoffed and it was not long before they started bickering.

“Well, they won’t stop anytime soon. Let’s just eat. She brought chocolate treats for you.” The guy named Julian handed me a paper-bag. I eagerly opened it while he fetched us some cutlery.

Chocolate desserts after breakfast are the best.
