Chapter 13

Selena was almost wordless when Mikey stopped the car a few meters away from the main entrance to the hotel. Instead of going down, she remained fixed as if pinned to her chair and gazed out the front door glass at what appeared to be security agents at the entrance.

They seemed to be the search party who inspected the guests before letting them enter. Being five in sight, they wore black suits, dark sunglasses, and coiled tube earpieces. One of them had a data pad in his hand from which he seemed to ID the guests, while two others had hand-held metal detectors to scan those who had been approved by the data pad.

The rest of the security agents were placed at the door and opened it as guests walked in.
