Aria's pov

The sky is still covered with the last traces of night when I step into the kitchen. My body feels heavy, my eyes burn, and even though I fed last night to my satisfaction, thanks to Kael and his food that could feed a small army, I still wasn’t able to sleep. How could I? Every time I closed my eyes, I saw his face and heard his voice. I can still remember the heat of his body pressed against mine like he wanted every part of him to be inside me.

I grip the edge of the metal counter, trying to shake off the memory.

“What is wrong with you, Aria?” I whisper under my breath. “He’s insane, that’s what’s wrong. He threatened to kill you, then said he would bed you to death…..who even says things like that? Then he brings you food like some twisted knight in shining armor. What is he, a bipolar wolf?”

A girl bringing in more dirty plates gave me a look like I’ve grown two heads, and I quickly pretend to focus on my task. My duty is clean up duty.

Fabulous.

Adrian’s pov“Hmmm… that feels so good,” Aria breathes out softly, the sound barely escaping her lips. The words curl through the air, low and unguarded, and I feel every syllable pulse straight into my chest. Her back arches slightly under my hands, her skin warm, smooth, and marked with faint bruises. The sight twists something deep inside me. “What is it anyway?” she murmurs. Her eyes is still closed, trusting and completely unaware of how much that trust unravels me. I am used to people hiding from me in fear and terror, not that I mind.“Just a little thing I asked a witch to concoct for me,” I reply, keeping my tone light. “If I had known it worked on humans, I would have given it to you sooner.”The truth is, I use this same ointment after my own training sessions — when even a vampire’s body feels the sting of exhaustion. It numbs the pain, cools the burn and for me to need it is the testament of how far Evermoor academy can push you to your limits. For her, a fragile human,

Kael’s pov“You have to make an example of them or you will look weak, Kael. Those are the rules. Show the Alpha of the Blackwolves and his son who they are to bow to If you become Alpha.”My father’s voice keeps echoing in my head long after the call ends. If I become Alpha? What the hell does that even mean?I have been training, fighting, and bleeding for that title for six years. I’ve led half the pack’s raids, handled disputes, done his dirty work, enforced every damn law he didn’t have the courage to face himself. After everything I’ve done, after the blood I’ve spilled, he dares to say if I become Alpha?I grip the bottle of my beer tighter and stare at the still blue water in front of me. I am louging at the pool side watching it glitters under the afternoon sun. Infront of me, laughter rings out. Misha and her friends are in the pool swimmimg or whatever they are doing. Water never seems to touch their body, their hair is still perfect, not a single strand out of place. Their

Aria's povFire. Screams. Blood.Fire. Screams. Blood. The same scene again. Over and over till I’m crying begging for it to stop. I can smell the burning and I can see the blood on my hands. I’m trying to scream, but nothing comes out. The world is burning and I’m right in the middle of it, choking on smoke and terror. I can’t run and I can’t move. The air tastes like ash and I could hear him somewhere in the dark, the same low growl whispering my name, closer, closer—.I wake up whimpering, my throat tight and my lungs clawing for air. The room is pitch black, every shadow heavy. My body is curled tight in a feral position, trembling like an animal cornered. My chest hurts, every breath feels like knives. I knew what I was having…..i was having a panic attack.“Breathe,” I whisper to myself. “Just breathe.”But my body doesn’t listen. Panic rises fast and my heart is pounding so hard it hurts. My skin is slick with sweat and no matter what I do I can't seem to get enough air. I can’

  • ARIA: The Rise Of The Half Wolf Phoenix    Chapter 27: She might never leave

Kael’s povThe scent of fear hits me first as soon as I stepped into my house. It hangs heavy in the air, thick enough to make Ghost stir beneath my skin. His growl rumbles low, pressing against my chest. It has only been a day since the omegas arrived, yet the house already feels suffocating. Their scent clings to every corner, they smell like weakness, nerves and submission. I’m tired of them already and I haven’t even spoken to them since that day they came.Dinner scent drifts from the kitchen, a mix of meat, herbs and something sweet. It should tempt me, but it doesn’t. My stomach knots instead of growling. All I want is silence, the house empty with just me inside, that should make me feel better. The book in my hand feels heavier than it should. I couldn’t find any book in the library that talked about fated mates no matter how long I looked, finally I saw this book that tells a story about the moon goddess and her love, hopefully it says something about how she created the fat

Aria’s pov“I really don’t belong here, sir.” My words tumble out. “You can ask my teachers, the students, my coach…..they all know I’m human. You can smell it yourself!”Dean Elisha sighs, flipping through a thick folder like I’m a line item he needs to check off.“Like I told you yesterday, Miss Evans. What the Council says goes.”“They made a mistake,” I insist, heat rising in my chest. The papers stop moving. His gaze lifts towards me slowly. That one motion is enough to make every warning light in my head flash…….oh no. I remember too late how he warned me never to accuse the Council again.“I’m sorry, sir,” I whisper quickly, forcing my head down. The growl that slips from him isn’t full wolf or whatever he is, but it was close. The sound vibrates through the floor and I clench my fists behind my back forcing myself to hold my tongue. No need getting the man upset, I need him. He’s the only one who can get me out of this nightmare and I can’t afford to make him more angry.“My t

Aria's povI look up, startled. Adrian. I would recognize that sexy voice anywhere. He had the perfect grin on his beautiful face, his dark hair falling over his forehead, eyes gleaming with amusement. Three other boys hover behind him, all vampire-beautiful and smug. The air shifts the moment he arrives, like it bends to him.“Don’t tell me you’re so hungry you’ve started eating off the floor?” he teases, crouching down slightly.I flush, scrambling to my feet. “Oh, no! I just… I dropped it, so I’m cleaning up before—”He snaps his fingers and one of his guys immediately kneels and starts gathering the mess.“No, it’s fine! I can do it!” I protest.I bent down trying to pack the food, no way was I letting someone else suffer for me again, just like the way he made someone give up their seat for me at the assembly“Not happening,” Adrian says lightly, taking my hand. His voice is calm, firm and commanding. Something about it made me not want to argue. Even though he claimed vampires
