Aria's pov

I couldn’t even finish my breakfast, how could I?

“We can go now, right?” I push the words out before my courage fades.

Doris’s face brightens. “Of course we can. Let’s go.”

It happens fast……..Too fast.

One minute we’re leaving the cafeteria, the next we’re in the main building, standing in the welfare coordinator's office, Mrs Clark's, who didn’t even bat an eye as she nods, scribbles something and hands us two passes.

Just like that. No questions. No hesitation.

I blink down at the pass in my hand.

Why didn’t anyone tell me about this before?

I could have escaped a long time ago.

We headed to a side of the campus I haven't seen before. It seemed darker, the building taller and quieter.

“You don’t want to get your bag?” Doris walks beside me with a soft smile. “I have my purse already.”

I shook my head. “I’ll just look around today.”

She nods. “That’s fine.”

Inside my chest, a fist tightens around my heart. It’s better this way. No way am I going back after hearing abou

Aria's povThe bed feels so good under me, so soft as if it is made from feathers. I sink deeper into it, curling like a child who hasn’t slept in years. It has been so long I slept so peacefully. It’s as if someone had magically removed all the stress, worries and tension from my body. I wiggle my ass a bit, stretching my legs. I feel something firm behind me, like a wall. I wiggle again and I feel something else pressing against my backside, growing harder by the second. My eyes snap open.I take in the unfamiliar room, which means the warm wall behind me, currently spooning me, is a real person.I let out a small cry and bolt out of the bed so fast I fall to my knees on the floor. I turn around, my heart ponding so hard and I'm filled with even more horror when I realize the person is Kael.He just lies there, shirtless with his hair tousled. His elbow rests on the bed supporting his head as if he has been watching me sleep, as if he had allowed me to wiggle against him purposely.

Kael's povThe rage in me is unexplainable. I felt Ghost snap to total madness inside me, his anger fusing with mine till there was no line between us.My claws locked around Misha’s hind leg and she howled as I flung her across the clearing the same way she had thrown Aria a second earlier. I lunged at her, my claw locking around her throat, not caring about the blood tinkling down her fur or her whimper. I needed blood…..Ghost needed blood.I heard some of the students around us shuffle forward as if they might interfere and I snapped my head toward them. My snarl ripped out, sharp enough to cut the air and they halted at once. They knew better. None of them stood a chance against me in this state. One more step and they’d bleed beside her.Misha whimpered again and I turned back to her, my claws tightening at her neck and snarled so badly I frosted at the lips. She disobeyed me after my warning. After my threat. After I told her to stay the hell away from Aria. She still dared.

  • ARIA: The Rise Of The Half Wolf Phoenix    Chapter 61: Always trust your gut

Aria's povI let the hot water run over me in the visitors room I'm using, until the steam fogged the glass. The cuts and bruises on my body from the training have already healed. I forgot to ask Adrian for more of that cream, I didn’t have much left and I needed it if I planned to survive another week in this place.I stepped out of the bathroom, a towel around me. My clothes were going to be a problem. Misha had shredded the ones good enough for a party and the rest were dirty and smelled like I had rolled in a pig sty.I sighed and reached for my old sweatshirt and jeans. Then I remembered the shopping bags in the room on my first day, Adrian had gotten for me. I had shoved them into the wardrobe and never opened them.I pulled them out and emptied everything on the bed. My breath caught. He went shopping for me, is he crazy? I check the label and my stomach flips. These weren't off the rack kind of clothes, these were expensive stuff. I held a dress between my fingers. The fab

Kael's povThe gate creaks open as we pull up to Alpha Rafael's residency in the academy. The place feels wrong the moment I step out. These creatures aren’t like us. Wolves move in shadows and hunt in packs while Bears walk visibly like moving mountains and guard everything like it holds their blood. Their numbers live together under one roof with their future Alpha. No privacy. No quiet. Everything is shared and everything is being watched.Unlike Rafael, I keep only my omegas, my beta and gamma close. The rest of my people live in the dorms and mix with students. We don’t build walls like this. The men guarding the gate glare at us as we pass through. “Should we have brought the rest of the pack?” Dante’s voice breaks the silence. My mind went pack to all my pack members I have instructed to stay close in case something happens.I shake my head. “No. I have a solution.”At least I hope I do. If all goes well, we walk out in ten minutes with something to tell my father. He has been

Aria's povThe other girls laugh and a hand shoves my shoulder.“She thinks she’s better than us,” another girl sneers.“I don’t,” I breathe out. “Oh you do,” the leader snaps. “First, you live with the Vampire Prince, walking around with the higher ranks as if you’re one of them, getting all sorts of attention. And now, your name suddenly jumps into the orb like magic? Right. Tell us which one of them you begged to do it for you.”I’m so tired. Everything today has been pushing me down, and I have no strength left in me to fight off bullying right now, even though there is no way I will even win in a fight with their numbers. I try to step through them but they block me.“Tell us what you did, human.”Another girl leans in close enough for her breath to hit my cheek. “Thought sleeping your way up would work faster than training?”A shove cracks across my shoulder.“She still thinks she belongs here,” someone behind me says. “It’s cute.”“Adorable,” the leader adds. “Human trash pr
