Chapter Seventy-Five

I walked in and made a terrible mistake.

"Good morning." I greeted the middle-aged woman whom I assumed to be Mama Tiv.

"Good morning o, what do you want to buy?" She smiled.

Mama Tiv was a light skinned beauty, age was definitely on her side with just a fine line on both of her cheeks and some crinkles at the side of her eyes.

"Okay ma." I assumed she knew me. "Rice, spaghetti, plantain, one fish and one meat ma." I said to her and she apportioned the various foods on my plate.

" This is it." She handed the wide ceramic plate to me. I collected it before getting seated on one of the plastic chairs and placing my food on the tarpaulin-covered table.

"Ma I want one fanta too." I requested and she handed it to me 

I dug into my food and was done in no time. It was nice, it had the whole canteen essence to it and also reminded me of my previous home with
