Chapter Twenty-One

The midterms were over and it'd been one hell of an awkward one. Junior refused to come home so he spent his midterm break at grandma's place.

Speaking of grandmas, I never grew up with one, we never knew each other. I had asked my mum once and she said it in plain, emotionless words that my grandma 'didn't want to meet me'.

I sighed as I pushed the thought to the back of my mind. Her loss, not mine.

Occasionally bumping into Rose was the main motive behind me calling my break 'awkward'. I don't think I'd ever be able to forget what I saw.

School had resumed and the ss2 students had become a shadow of themselves, they were more respectful, neat, quiet and even acted more mature.

The boys prostrated lower than before when greeting teachers while girls almost grazed their knees with the floors, like they were greeting their in-laws.

Some were even going overboard with it. Mary from science class stocked up the staff room with packs of bottled water and drinks.
