"Why can't you believe me?" Nick asked with his eyes a little teary. It didn't faze Emily one bit. She was even eying him skeptically.

Hera had suddenly found the kitchen more interesting but her ears never stopped to listen to what Emily and her cousin discussed. How privileged she is to be listening in on their awkward conversation.

"I can't believe you because I know you, Nick. You don't do things by mistake." snapped Emily. She wasn't in the mood for his bullshit. He could sit on her couch all day and tell her lies and she would sit all day on her couch, opposite him and listen, not believing one shit about it. "We grew up together. At some point, we grew apart. I will ask you once again. Why?"
