ISABELLA

The warm water that was pouring from the shower as I washed myself vigorously helped wash away some of the embarrassment that remained from this morning incident, although my face still turned red at the memory of Kyle bursting in and scaring me.

I'd spent so many years having my privacy violated, and treated like I didn't have any right, that I should have been used to it, but somehow this felt different than usual.

Not different but actually worse then before, because for a brief moment I'd actually felt safe and valued as someone who might be important.
