Alex’s POV

I couldn’t stop thinking about what I did last night.

Kissing Emily had not been part of the plan.

I only went there to ask one simple question — to confirm who the baby’s father really was. That was it. Instead, I pushed her against the wall and kissed her like I had any right to.

She must think I did it on purpose that I was playing games.

Damn it.

I was sitting alone in the locker room, staring at my phone screen without really seeing it, when Julian walked in.

He looked surpri

Emily’s POV Kara came to my house after class, and I told her I had a surprise for her.“Okay, now tell me, Em! Don’t make me wonder,” Kara said, sitting on the edge of my bed with wide eyes.I sat across from her, trying to keep my voice steady. “Mrs. Anderson said her friend from Paris is opening his third gallery soon and… he wants me to collaborate with him.”“Wait! Are you serious? Paris?” Kara said, and I just nodded before she jumped at me and hugged me tightly.“You have to take it! You don’t have to think about anything, Em. This is your life, and I know you’ll be successful if you go out there and take this opportunity! Oh my god, I’m so happy to hear that, Em.” Kara released her hug and looked at me, her face glowing.“Alex is there too, right?” she continued. “I think this is God’s way of bringing you back to him.”I just smiled, but my stomach twisted a little. “But I don’t know if my parents will agree to this. I think Julian knows where Alex is now, and if he finds out

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 65: The Call That Opened Doors

Emily’s POV A week had passed since I finally heard Alex’s voice. I told Kara about it the next day, and she was even more excited than I was. “He called you? After six months? Em, that means he still cares!” she had said, her voice full of hope. I decided to follow Alex on Instagram. Whether it was a stupid decision or not, Alex had no reason to contact me if he was with someone right now, unless he was a playboy.“You seem to be in a good mood today,” Mrs. Anderson said as she walked into the studio. “I can see significant progress in your painting, as well as the colors you’ve chosen.”I looked up from the canvas, brush still in hand. “Ah, you could say that. I feel more alive now, a little more alive actually, and I have to finish what I started, right?”Mrs. Anderson smiled at me, her eyes warm. “That’s wonderful to hear. You’ve been working so hard. It shows in the brushstrokes. Keep that energy, Em. It suits you.”I nodded, dipping the brush back into the paint. “I’ll try. T

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 64: The Voice I Couldn’t Answer

Emily’s POVI walked through the front door without looking back at Julian. I didn’t say good night to Mom or Dad. I just went straight to my room, closed the door quietly, and flopped onto the bed. The ceiling stared back at me, blank and cold. Tears started falling before I could stop them. They came silently at first, then harder, soaking into my pillow. I didn’t even know what these tears were for anymore. The baby. Alex. The life I thought I could have. Everything felt lost, like pieces of myself were scattered and I didn’t know how to put them back together.I curled on my side, staring at the wall. Six months. Six months of pretending I was okay, of painting the same unfinished canvas, of carrying this secret weight. Julian didn’t understand. Mom and Dad didn’t know the full truth. And now this call… this voice I had tried so hard to forget.Knock… knock…“Emily, are you okay, honey?” Mom’s voice came through the door, soft and worried.I wiped my face quickly and sat up.

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 63: The Dinner I Never Wanted

Emily’s POV “So, what about your work?” Julian asked Will. “I heard you’ve been busy lately because you’re still adjusting to your company, right?” Will took a sip of his wine and nodded. “Well, I don’t really like business, but I have no choice. My dad only trusts me to continue his business. We also invested in your hockey team, you know” Julian’s eyes widened. “Oh, really? I just found out about that. Right now, I’m just focusing on training to join the international team. I’ll be joining them in a few days.” “In a few days?” I said, turning to Julian. “You didn’t even tell me, Mom, or Dad. We thought you’d already joined the team.” Julian shrugged, cutting into his steak. “Oh, about that, it’s hard to explain, but the coach said I’ll be transferred in a few days.” I noticed Will kept stealing glances at me across the table. His gaze felt too intense, too interested. It made me uncomfortable. I couldn’t just leave and disrespect Julian, but I wanted to be anywhere else. “B

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 62: The Dinner I Never Asked For

Emily’s POV “Where are we going?” Julian just smiled, eyes fixed on the road. He didn’t even glance at me. “Don’t be weird. I don’t want to be surprised. Tell me where we are going? I have to go to the studio early tomorrow morning.” “You are so fussy,” Julian said with a laugh. “Usually you always stay up late even if you leave the next morning. Anyway, you sit down sweetly. You will know later.” I crossed my arms and looked out the window, the city lights blurring past. “I’m serious, Julian. I have a deadline for this painting. Mrs. Anderson is expecting progress. I can’t just disappear for some mystery trip.” Julian chuckled softly. “It’s not a mystery trip. It’s dinner. You need to eat, right? And I missed my sister. Can’t I take you out without twenty questions?” I sighed, still staring at the passing buildings. “Fine. But if this is some kind of setup, I’m walking home.” The car fell quiet for a moment. Then my phone buzzed. I pulled it out, and my heart skipped when I s

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 61: The Confession I Couldn’t Hold Back

Alex’s POV I kept staring at my phone, the screen dark but the weight of it heavy in my hand. Six months in Paris, and I still checked it every day like a fool, hoping for something from Emily. Nothing ever came. Kael walked over and nudged me with his elbow. “What’s wrong with you?” he asked, leaning against the wall of the locker room. “I don’t know how many hours you’ve been holding your phone and staring at the screen like that. Is there something you’re waiting for?” I slipped the phone into my bag, trying to act normal. “No, I just… I—” “Come on, you don’t have to tell me everything, but you can share it with me,” Kael said, sitting down on the bench beside me. “At least you need someone to talk to? I’m sure it’s about a girl. I accidentally overheard her name while you were sleep-talking at night.”The words started coming out before I could stop them. “What would you do if you impregnated your best friend’s sister? But on the other hand, you promised her brother that you w

Emily’s POVMy head felt heavy, like it was filled with fog. The first thing I noticed was the smell — sharp, clean, and cold, like antiseptic mixed with something sterile. Emily’s POV The phone kept vibrating on my nightstand, dragging me out of a restless sleep. My eyes opened slowly, heavy with exhaustion, and I reached for it with a groan. The screen lit up with Alex’s name. He had called three times already and left several messages. I opened the last one, m

Emily’s POV The smell of grilled meat and charcoal should have been comforting, but tonight it only made my stomach twist. Emily’s POVI couldn’t stop looking behind me.Even as Kara and I walked away from the exhibition hall, my eyes kept darting over my shoulder, half-expecting Alex to follow. The memory of his voice, his closeness, the way he had looked at me when he asked about the baby — it was all too fresh. I
