Emily’s POV

I had just left the studio when I saw my brother’s hockey team exiting the practice area. The sight of them in their gear, laughing and shoving each other, made my steps slow. And then I saw Alex.

He was walking beside Julian, saying something that made my brother nod seriously. The moment Julian spotted me, his face lit up.

“Emily!” he called, waving enthusiastically.

Alex stopped mid-sentence and turned. Our eyes met for a brief second. I looked away quickly, focusing only on

Alex’s POV“Come on, you can come to my apartment too. Kael will also come,” Karen said, smiling as she packed her bag.I shook my head, wiping sweat from my forehead. “Ah, I think I just want to go home. After all, Kael can be jealous if he knows I’m in your apartment when he’s not there.”Karen laughed, slinging her bag over her shoulder. “Kael won’t be like that. Why are you alone at home? Must be bored. It’s better to go to my place.”I still rejected Karen’s offer, waving goodbye as I left her in the arena with the other members. “Thanks, but I’m good. See you tomorrow guys.”On the way to my apartment, I looked at my phone. Emily hadn’t replied to my message. She also didn’t seem to be active on Instagram. I sighed, slipping the phone back into my pocket. Six months, and the silence still hurt. Not long after, a phone call from my mother came in. I immediately picked it up.“Hi Mom, what’s wrong?”“It’s me,” my stepfather said, his voice sharp. “You have to go home. Your mothe

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 73: The Gallery of Dreams

Emily’s POV Pierre took me to one of his galleries. I was so amazed that my eyes and mouth kept open when Pierre took me around his gallery which was like a fairyland. “Wow, this is all your work?” I asked, turning slowly to take in the walls covered with beautiful paintings. “Most of my works but I also took some works from new painters like you,” Pierre said, his voice warm. “I bought their works without changing their identity and making those amazing works visible.” I walked closer to one of the pieces, a vibrant abstract that seemed to glow under the lights. “I can’t say anything, Mr. Pierre. You are so amazing. Having a gallery is one of my dreams and I’m sure it’s the dream of all painters, and you give them space to make it happen.” Pierre smiled, gesturing for me to follow him to the next room. “I just feel that a good work is not born from a great painter, but on the contrary, a great painter is born from their extraordinary works. One of which is you, and I am one of y

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 72: The Dream That Wouldn’t Fade

Emily’s POV His hands were warm on my skin, sliding slowly down my sides as he pulled me closer in the dim light of the car. Rain pattered against the windows, creating a private world just for us. Alex’s lips found mine, soft at first, then deeper, hungrier. I moaned into his mouth, my fingers threading through his hair as I pressed against him. “Emily,” he whispered against my neck, his voice low and rough. “I’ve missed you so much.” I arched into him, my body responding to every touch. His hands moved lower, gripping my hips as he lifted me onto his lap. The heat between us built quickly, his breath hot on my skin as he kissed down my collarbone. I gasped when his fingers slipped under my dress, tracing patterns that made me tremble. “Alex… please,” I breathed, my hands clutching his shoulders. “Don’t stop.” He kissed me again, deeper this time, his body moving against mine in a rhythm that felt perfect. “I won’t,” he murmured. “I’ve waited too long for this. For you.” The

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 71: The Flight to a New Beginning

Emily’s POV I stood at the airport entrance, my backpack beside me, feeling the weight of everything I was leaving behind. Mrs. Anderson had driven me here herself, and now we were standing near the security line. She turned to me with a gentle smile. “Are you ready?” Mrs. Anderson asked as she helped me with my bag. “I have no choice,” I said, looking at the busy terminal around us. “But I know I won’t regret it if I still go there.” Mrs. Anderson nodded, her eyes warm. “I know you will do your best, Em. And there is something for you. It’s not much but hopefully it can help you there.” She handed me a white envelope filled with money. “But—” I started, trying to hand it back. “Accept it,” she said firmly but kindly. “I used to go without money and I don’t want you to experience it. It’s not much but at least you have a handle for you while you’re there. Don’t worry, Pierre will take care of you.” I took the envelope, my eyes stinging with tears. “Thank you, Mrs. Anderson. I w

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 70: The Night I Couldn’t Face

Emily’s POV I was still in my studio that night, not daring to turn on my phone. I also didn’t know if I could face my parents or Julian if I answered their calls. Maybe I’d melt and get back to them like I always did. Mrs. Anderson stood by the door, watching me with gentle concern. “Em, are you sure you will stay here? You can come with me if you want.” “Ah it’s okay Mrs. Anderson,” I said, forcing a small smile. “I’m just here anyway it’s only until tomorrow morning, so I’ll continue my painting which is about to be finished.” She nodded slowly, her eyes searching my face. “Alright, but if you need anything call me. I will pick you up tomorrow morning.” I looked at the canvas, the brush still in my hand. “I will. Thank you for everything. I don’t know what I would do without this studio. Without you.” Mrs. Anderson stepped closer, her voice soft. “You’re stronger than you think, Em. But you don’t have to carry everything alone. If the painting is too much tonight, just rest.

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 69: The Decision I Couldn’t Hide

Emily’s POV I woke up to the sound of the studio door opening and Mrs. Anderson’s voice calling my name. “Emily, what are you doing here? Did you stay overnight?”I looked to the right and left, realizing Kara was no longer there. Maybe she had left and didn’t want to wake me up.“Ah yes I…” I started, but Mrs. Anderson found a backpack under my feet and approached me.“What’s wrong Em? What happened?” Mrs. Anderson asked, her voice full of concern.I took a deep breath. “I… Mrs. Anderson, if I agree to go to Paris, when can I go there?”Mrs. Anderson looked quite confused. She didn’t think I would say that. “Actually he can prepare a ticket for you anytime, because he really hopes you can work together faster, but I need to know what’s wrong with you Em?”“I agree!” I said quickly. “I will leave soon, but please don’t say anything to my family, I beg you Mrs. Anderson. This is my dream. I just want to do it at least once in my life.”I grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes, hopi

Emily's POVI pushed open the front door, the familiar smell of home-cooked food hitting me before I even stepped inside. “I’m home.”Julian looked up from the kitchen counter where he was helping Mom chop vegetables. “Oh, you’re home? I thought you forgot the way home.”I managed a small smile, gr

Emily’s POVSix months had passed, and the emptiness still followed me everywhere.I stood in front of my canvas in the small studio Mrs. Anderson had given me, brush hovering but not moving. Alex’s POVSix months had passed, and I still couldn’t shake the feeling that I had run away from the only thing that ever mattered.I stood on the ice in Paris, skates cutting sharp lines, but my mind was thousands of miles away. • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 55: Empty Arms

Emily’s POV I was still in the hospital when Julian left me alone there. The room felt too quiet, too white, too empty. I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, my hand resting on my stomach where the baby used to be. It felt like a dream — a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. I could still feel
