Emily’s POV

I walked through the front door without looking back at Julian. I didn’t say good night to Mom or Dad.

I just went straight to my room, closed the door quietly, and flopped onto the bed. The ceiling stared back at me, blank and cold.

Tears started falling before I could stop them. They came silently at first, then harder, soaking into my pillow.

I didn’t even know what these tears were for anymore. The baby. Alex. The life I thought I could have.

Emily’s POV “Alex, what are you doing here? How did you know I was here?” “Can I come in?” Alex asked, just staring at me, making me forget he hadn’t even answered my question. For some reason, I let him into my apartment, walking past me. I missed his scent so much; it seemed like I hadn’t smelled it in a long time. “Do you live here alone? Actually, our apartment isn’t far, only a few blocks from here, actually, since my practice is nearby,” Alex said. “What are you doing here? I told you we didn’t need to see each other anymore.” Alex turned around and saw the lunch Pierre had bought me, untouched. “I don’t think you’ll like this food. I can buy you something else if you want,” Alex said. “Alex! Stop being like this! Don’t act like nothing happened between us. I don’t want us to repeat the same thing. I care about you, that’s why I want you to focus on your hockey. I don’t want you here. I don’t want you stuck with me.” “What are you talking about? I’m not thinking about t

Emily’s POV A week passed, and my first painting for the gallery was finally finished. I was satisfied with the result. I just needed to paint a few more before the end of the month so they could all be displayed in the gallery. That afternoon, I didn’t go anywhere. Pierre sent lunch to my apartment. It looked delicious, but it was too Parisian, maybe I wasn’t used to the taste. And it’s been almost a week since Alex called me and asked to meet. He hasn’t contacted me again. I should be happy, but instead I’m looking for him. I tried calling Kara as I sat on the couch in the TV room. “Hello, busy painter. What’s up? Why are you calling? Do you miss me?” Kara said. “Yeah, to be honest, I really miss you. I miss us hanging out together as we used to. I’m alone sometimes. Mr. Pierre comes to keep me company, and sometimes he takes me to the gallery to see the construction, but I need company here.” “You can go out. You can go to a bar or cafe. Or you can… go on a blind date?” Kara

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 77: The Call She Tried to Ignore

Emily’s POV“Emily” I heard Alex’s voice whispering in my ear, my eyes opened and Alex was right above me, staring at my face.“How? How can you be here?”“I miss you Em” Alex said and dropped his head on my neck. His lips brushed my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I gasped as his hands moved down my sides, pulling me closer. The room felt hot, the air thick with need. He kissed my neck, slow and deep, his body pressing against mine. I moaned softly, my fingers gripping his shoulders as he moved lower, his mouth finding the sensitive spot just below my collarbone.“Alex…” I whispered, my voice breaking as his hands slid under my shirt, touching my skin like he knew every inch of me. The way he moved felt so real, so intense, his breath hot against me. I arched into him, wanting more, needing him closer. He kissed me hard, his body rocking against mine, the pleasure building fast, so close, so—“Nooo…”I woke up from my sleep, my heart was beating so fast, I felt he was really

Emily’s POVPierre stood beside me, arms crossed as he studied the canvas. “I think adding a little brown in this part will be much better,” he said, pointing to the lower corner. “It will ground the whole piece. What do you think?”I stepped back, tilting my head. The painting was for his gallery, my first one in Paris. It wasn’t huge, but it felt important. “You’re right. The brown will make it feel more… real. I’ll try it.”Pierre nodded, but his eyes stayed on me. “Your polish looks very natural, but the color sometimes doesn’t match. Is there something on your mind?”I set the brush down, wiping my hands on a rag. “Oh it’s nothing, Mr. Pierre. I just… I think there are some unfinished things in my head, but I promise this won’t affect anything.”He smiled a little, leaning against the table. “It’s okay. Take your time, Emily. This is Paris. I brought you here not to steal your time. Have fun and enjoy Paris so you can feel what you need to pour into your painting.”I nodded, loo

Alex’s POV I stood by my mother’s hospital bed, the sterile smell of the room making everything feel heavier. She looked smaller than I remembered, pale against the white sheets. “Why did you come back?” my mother asked, her voice weak but steady. “You shouldn’t have to go home and just focus on your training there. It’s your life, Alex.” I sat down on the chair beside her bed, taking her hand gently. “How could I not go home when he called me and said you were in the hospital? Mom, you are the only one I have. Do you think I can ignore it just because I don’t like you marrying him?” She squeezed my hand, her eyes softening. “I’m sorry, Alex. I thought by marrying him maybe you would get a better future. I didn’t think you couldn’t understand.” I looked down at our joined hands. “But promise me you will come back to Paris and focus on your dream of joining the international team. You have to do it.” “Yes, I promise,” I said quietly. “And… what happened to Sophia after the engage

Alex’s POV“Come on, you can come to my apartment too. Kael will also come,” Karen said, smiling as she packed her bag.I shook my head, wiping sweat from my forehead. “Ah, I think I just want to go home. After all, Kael can be jealous if he knows I’m in your apartment when he’s not there.”Karen laughed, slinging her bag over her shoulder. “Kael won’t be like that. Why are you alone at home? Must be bored. It’s better to go to my place.”I still rejected Karen’s offer, waving goodbye as I left her in the arena with the other members. “Thanks, but I’m good. See you tomorrow guys.”On the way to my apartment, I looked at my phone. Emily hadn’t replied to my message. She also didn’t seem to be active on Instagram. I sighed, slipping the phone back into my pocket. Six months, and the silence still hurt. Not long after, a phone call from my mother came in. I immediately picked it up.“Hi Mom, what’s wrong?”“It’s me,” my stepfather said, his voice sharp. “You have to go home. Your mothe

Emily’s POVThe meal that day felt painfully awkward.I couldn’t stop stealing glances at Alex. He sat directly across from me, even though there was plenty of space next to Julian. Why did he choose that seat? Every time our eyes almost met, my heart stuttered and I looked away. The air between

Emily’s POV That night I couldn’t sleep.I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, my mind spinning in circles. The room was dark and quiet except for Kara’s soft snoring from the other bed. Alex's POV I was still in the locker room, slowly putting away my hockey gear, when Julian walked in with an iced lemon tea in his hand. He looked lighter than he had earlier on the bench. There was even a small smile on his face as he dropped down on the bench beside me. “Finally, I can talk to

  • Accidentally Yours, Hockey Captain   Chapter 13: Unspoken Truths

Alex’s POV Three days had passed, and Emily still hadn’t replied to my text. I kept telling myself it didn’t matter. She was probably back with Lucas, figuring out their little family drama. That was her problem, not mine. I had practice, games coming up, and Sophia waiting with wedding plans. L
