Chapter 29

"Did you just take a bath or did you just pour in... Wait, did you dream about that again?" Lucas was surprised to see Luther emerge from the restroom inside his office with a wet head as well as his coat.

The young man sat silently in his swivel chair, leaning back and closing his eyes.

"Don't tell me, even here at the office, those nightmares won't stop?" Lucas inquired, concerned for his friend.

" I'm not sure, but it's getting worse," he says as he exhales sharply.

Lucas shook his head, feeling sorry for his friend and frustrated that he couldn't solve his friend's problem.

For nearly two years, Luther has been haunted by the scene he witnessed. It comes to him every night, as if to remind him of his painful past.

"The doctor has successfully removed her cast and says she's almost recovered," Lucas said after reading the text he received for the doctor to divert the attention of Luther.

The young man was unbothered by his announcement.
