(Leigh’s POV)
Alfie whistled when he saw me. “Somebody’s read for a catfight, roar!” He handed me the folder of our set of proposals and glanced at Alex. “Good morning, Mr. Hearst!”
“Just Alex, Alfie,” He corrected. “Don’t make it sound like I’m included in their business. Stay me out of it.”
“Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed today,” Alfie rolled his eyes at me. “Coffee?”
I shook my head, watching Alex as he sat down on the couch, taking the newspaper Alfie left when he saw us coming.
“Not you,” Alfie said, puckering his lips at Alex. “I’m buying coffee at the coffee shop downstairs.”
“Let me join you,” Alex told Alfie, standing up and placing the newspaper bac
(Leigh’s POV)“Don’t be funny, Alex,” I gritted my teeth, forcing a smile as I glanced at Alaska and Bernard. “Don’t overdo it because it’s not funny.”Alaska looked annoyed already, half-closing her eyes as she glared at the manager. Of course, she knew the owner of the restaurant, so the ‘Alex Joke’ being one of the owners won’t work.Alex heaves a deep sigh, nods at the manager, and says, “Fine! Call the owner, then,” he faces me and gives me a sullen look, but right now, I really don’t care. My nostrils flared in anger because he added more stress and anxiety to me.Mr. Smith smiled apologetically at us and stepped outside the private dining area to call the owner.“I told you this is a bad idea getting them as the coordinator,&
(Leigh’s POV)“Are we gonna bet who will breathe first, Elle?” Alfie asked.“Or maybe,” Elle giggled as she moved her head closer to Alfie. “Who will blink first? Why play that game anyway? What for?”I put down my hand and sighed heavily as I gazed at them. “Did they leave already?” Thinking of Bernard and Alaska exhausted me. My nostrils flared as I asked them in an impatient tone.“Uh-huh!” Alfie answered, not looking at me as he played the video on his cellphone and showed it to Elle. “I had my proof just in case anyone of them denied their shape.”I slumped on my seat, crossing my arms on my chest while I tucked my tongue into my cheeks. Thinking he would show a rock, I threw a paper shape, but he surprised me with a scissors shape.
(Leigh’s POV)Three heads, including mine, turned our direction to the condominium building. Alfie and Elle went out immediately of the car, leaving the two of us to talk before going out. I was one hundred percent sure that they were talking about me as they walked and laughed toward the main entrance of the building.“Oh!” My face turned fiery red as I looked at Alex again. He trailed my face with his fingers and slightly downturned his head to meet my eyes. “You think I would do that?”I fumbled for the right words, but I ended up saying one word. “Yes.”“Come here, Cupcake,” He sighs, cupping my face with his palms and kissing my lips quickly before putting his arms around me. “I will never do that, okay?”“Alex,” I threw
(Alexander’s POV)Entering Leigh’s apartment was like getting into a bigger version of her bedroom. Only her apartment had a kitchen, a small living room, two bedrooms, and a shared bathroom, but everything was organized. I placed the takeaway food we had from the restaurant on the kitchen island and walked in the direction of her bedroom, where I found her staring at her open closet.Leigh knows I am standing and leaning on the frame of her bedroom door and continues to ignore me as she blinks her eyes on her clothes. I watched her take away some of her clothes and place my things in a careful and organized manner. She impressed me, though, for moving faster than I expected like she has been trained for this all her life. When she was almost done, I walked toward her and embraced her from behind. I rested my head on her shoulder as I memorized w
(Leigh’s POV)My lips curved a smile when I saw Alex sleeping sideways, facing me. His hand was on the small space between us as if wanting to reach me. I know he is not perfect, but how can an imperfect man look perfect and real to me.Cupid loves to play jokes on me, hitting me with his arrows when I see a gorgeous man, and when he starts making his moves at me, my heart gives in right away. I bet Cupid was with me at Mei’s wedding with a mission of making her fall in love with him on the day of their wedding, but instead, the arrow accidentally hit me.My hand reaches his face, trailing my index finger on his close eyelids, his pointed and beautiful nose, down to his soft full lips. My lips parted, remembering how I became obsessed with his kisses, drowning me every time his lips touched mine. Only Alex could make me forget, turns on every part of me, and
(Leigh’s POV)Alex stopped kissing me, but his fingers continued to work, playing with my pearl while staring adoringly at my face. My eyes, half-closing, opened and met his.“You’re soaking wet, Cupcake,” he lowered his head, claiming my mouth and kissing me feverishly.I gripped his arms, and like me, he was hot as if we had been placed inside the oven. After this, I felt like I would really turn into a delicious Cupcake.Alex stopped kissing me on the lips, but his fingers seemed to have their own mind as they continued to play my pearl, making me lose my sanity.“Time to have breakfast, Leigh,” he smiled, and before I could ask what he meant, his head already glided down to my core, pulling off my underwear and spreading my legs.I gasped as his soft and wet tongue glid
(Leigh’s POV)“Time for breakfast!” I tilted my head, calling Alex and Kayla after serving the leftover ravioli we had last night, bread, and coffee.“Time to have breakfast, Leigh?” Alex curved a naughty smile on his lips as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind. I gasped, feeling drenched as I remember him saying that in the bed a while ago.Heat crept to my face, and I knew I was apple red when Alex playfully bit my cheeks. I giggled, moving away from him as I saw Kayla coming.“I told Arman this is a bad idea staying in your apartment,” Kayla rolled her eyes as she sat down. “Arman was asking when you’ll visit the restaurant again?”Alex raised his eyebrows. “Arman?”He knew Arman was working in the accounting department in
(Leigh’s POV)“Kayleigh David -”“Hearst,” I added. I am becoming used to hearing my last name as Hearst. Alex was in the bathroom when Kayla pulled me in the main door before leaving for her conference.“Tell me, why are you seeing that family lawyer?” She snarled but in a low voice. Her eyes were glaring at me, wanting me to spill my secret. “Are you signing a post-nuptial agreement? Papa will-”I rolled my eyes at her. “Relax, Kayla. I just met Chase at the wrong time, but he’s really Alex’s cousin,” I looked directly into her eyes for her to know I wasn’t lying to her.She sighed, hugging me. “I’m leaving, and don’t wait up for me.” She has still that worried look in her eyes as she released me and opened the door. &ldq
