Chapter 6 Divorce me for him

Elsie knew that the investigation of her father's death can't be rushed, now the first step was to find the mystery man. Sid proposed that they go home first, when they find the mystery man, then act.

When they came out from the bar, Sid proposed to let Elsie stay at his house, but Aires immediately objected. Elsie did not want to make them unhappy, so she proposed to go back to her previous home with her parents.

Sid finally agreed with her decision, he said helplessly,"I knew you would want to come back, so I had ordered someone to clean up early."

Aires found it was improper to object again, so he told Elsie that he was always there and he could protect her at any time.

Elsie was very happy with their thoughtfulness, and she was surrounded by such loving people. Why was she so obsessed with Oswald?

"Mr crofts, I remember we are divorced. If you continue to call me, I will think you found out that you are in love with me." Elsie said sarcastically.

"In love with you? Do you think everyone is like you, so uncommitted to love? Pretending to love me very much in front of me and being aggrieved, and then turning around and falling in love with another man." Oswald's angry voice came through.

Elsie knew why she said that, it must because Dwight had mentioned to him about her at the bar.

"Yeah, I'm glad I'm not like you, because I can tell who's a viper and who's a good guy. I wish you could continue to love Tess so strongly. I, on the other hand, am just very sober, and I hate to gouge my eyes out at the thought that I've loved you so foolishly for five years."

"You!" Oswald was about to continue lecturing her when Elsie angrily hung up the phone.

Who was he to blame her? After being the Crofts' maid for five years, he still thought he was her master!

The phone rang again, and Elsie thought it was Oswald again, and she growled into it again."Asshole!"
