Chapter 7: Sparks

The next morning, Davi woke up earlier than usual. It was the excitement kicking in. Last night, after Liam left outside the door he watched more videos that could help him in modeling food.

Then, he watched a video that will help him become a good janitor!

In the video, the guy tied his hair in a man-bun and his mask, then his gloves and face the camera to say, “Let’s do this!” The guy then started to check his cleaning materials, refilled the bottles with fewer cleaning liquids, and left to start his day in a five floors building.

While cleaning, the guy explained how to get rid of this kind and that kind of stains. He learned a lot and he felt that he was more ready to start his new career.

When the video finished it was already midnight.

“Good morning!” he said while sitting at the dining table. “I’ll eat more today so I could have more energy to clean!” He was enthusiastic that Liam had to raise his eyes to watch him.

He had not seen anybody from a rich family happy to work as a janitor in their own company but Davi was different. Always different. Maybe it was his life from before and the omega had not yet adjusted to his new life after weeks of being married to Niel.

He sees the good in everything and was contented with what he was given. However, there was no happiness in his eyes. When he first saw Davi, he thought the omega was the epitome of sadness and lifelessness.

This time there was a spark in the omega's eyes.

Today, Niel was nowhere to be found again. It was always like this. Niel playing the missing-in-action since their wedding day. During the wedding night, the mistress had full confidence to face him and said, “Poor you. So stupid and naive, Niel will always be mine.”

That was on top of Niel saying that he never loved him and only seduced him to marry so he could be the Patriarch. It was a slap he never imagined, so painful, so suffocating.

“I’ll go with you, okay? We could help preserve mother earth.” He was stuffing food in his mouth as he chew. He was trying to eat more and finish quickly so he could ride with Liam.

Leaving the villa was so hard that he needed to have his own car! But he could never have his own car, he does not have money to buy and the money he will have will be used for his divorce.

Life isn’t easy. Such, sorrows.

Liam slowed his eating and his coffee was refilled twice before they left the mansion.

“Young Mater usually finishes his food in five minutes… now he ate for thirty minutes, tsk.” It was one of the maidservants shaking her head as she watched the car exit the gate. “I thought he hated the madam?”

“Right? They didn’t even talk before even young master Niel is not around always. Urgh! I will suffer indigestion if I ate with the person I hate.” Two maid servants casually talking when their master left. It was nothing new.

“You two, pack your bags.” A cold voice of an old man sounded from their back which made their body stiffen. As the butler of the family, Uncle Bert was given the right to change and hire servants as he pleased.

When servants were hired there was only one rule, ‘don’t disrespect the Master of the house’. The young master was still a Noah by law. Disrespecting the young master means disrespecting Liam.

It was clear from the beginning but people can’t help to gossip especially when it was this juicy. “Ah. Sir, please forgive us.” Their body bowed and their mouth repeated the words of apology.

“The eldest young master and the young master never mistreated you. I’ll forgive you this once but there will be no warning next time.” Uncle Bert turns his back on them. He cared for everyone in the mansion but his priority and loyalty were to the eldest young master and his family.

The company was bustling when they arrived. It was still early but everyone seems panicky. It can be felt through the air and no one can deny it.

Davi was wearing a trench coat and a simple shirt inside. Today was a bit chilly but not enough to let his will die down. He was given a salary of three million so he should work as much to be worthy of this salary.

Liam used the VIP elevator at the parking lot but Davi used the front door after getting off the car a kilometer away from the company. During the ride, both of them were silent.

Remembering that moment, Davi can’t help but sigh. Liam was silent and suddenly spoke that it startled him. “The cake was delicious,” in the silent car, the voice of the alpha reverberated and went through his ears going up to his mind.

Now, it kept on playing in his mind.

The utility worker's office was situated on the first floor and was easy to find than he thought. When he opened the door, he was welcomed with laughing and loud talking. It was a scene that was harmonious and was not rowdy at all.

“Oh. Mister, this is the utility room. You might be lost,” the middle age woman said after seeing Davi in his young master's aura. “Where do you want to go? I can lead you.”

“Ah. I’m… the new janitor.” His voice faded from shame. He should have worn something simple. He grabbed the trench coat after seeing a little snowfall from the window.

“For real?!” A man with blonde hair circled him and checks him out from head to toe and back to front. “not an artist but a janitor?” his eyes simply showed disbelief same with the other two in the room.

“yes, a janitor.” He repeated.

The three looked at each other and then grinned at him, “I’m Brian. This here is Mama Chu and Kelly.” Brian extended his hand for a shake and added, “I’m a beta.” The other two followed and said their sub-gender.

“N-nice to meet you. I… I’m an omega.” He was supposed to hide it but his colleagues have said their’s and it would be unfair to keep his own a secret. Mama Chu said she was an omega too and Kelly was a beta.

“An omega?!!” Another wave of surprised voices erupted, “We thought you are an alpha! Oh. So looks can’t be a basis now.”

Davi was always confused as an alpha and no one thought he was an omega. He was masculine and never moved like an omega so it was normal for people to mistake his sub-gender.

Oftentimes, only an alpha can guess his true sub-gender at the first meeting.

“We are complete now! We should have a welcome party tonight!”

“A welcome party!” Mama Chu and Kelly echoed Brian’s words.

Due to his colleagues' warm welcome, Davi can’t stomach saying no. He took his phone and searched for Liam’s number that was already stored in his contacts, “[Can’t get home. Welcome party. Drinking.]”

It’s not that he doesn’t know how to type his message but it was because his lazy to type his message.

On the other side, Liam’s phone sounded in the middle of his talk with his secretary. Reading the message, his brows creased while murmuring, “Who is with him?”
