Chapter Four

Cassandra's POV

A few minutes later Emelia's driver arrived,  he helped me into the car and took his place in the driver's seat then he drove off to Emelia's house.

A few minutes later we arrived at a huge mansion. I anticipated seeing the royal palace, I have never seen one in my life and I was excited. But when I got out of the car and looked around it didn't look like the Royal Palace I have seen in pictures.

Palace or not it is none your business focus on what you came here for. A voice in my head scolded.

A maid with mud-brown hair that was packed up in a tight bun walked up to me,

"Come in Miss, her highness will join you shortly." She ushered me inside a majestic white living room with fluffy white sofas and gold throw pillows to complement it, a wooden wheeled center table, and a gold chandelier was hanging at the center of the room.

"You can have your seat while you wait for the princess."

"Okay, thank you," I said and sat on the golden two-seater sofa.

This place is very beautiful. I thought while admiring the living room.

"Cass." I heard Emelia's cheerful voice. She came down the stairs looking gorgeous in the off-shouldered pink dress she was wearing, her white stilettos made clicking sounds as she walked.

"Emelia," I plastered a fake smile on my face,

"You look beautiful in that red dress," Emelia complimented my dress and I smiled at her.

"Thanks, you have a beautiful house."

"Oh, thank you the interior designers did a good job," she said and took a seat next to me on the love sofa.

"You don't live in the palace?" I asked and regretted asking has a small frown found its way up Emelia's face.

Why did I have to ask, stupid Cass?

"Yes, my husband the prince has some issues with the king and queen, his parents. Because of my sterility and we also wanted privacy, so we moved out of the palace."

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I should bever have asked." I apologized for being nosy.

"It's okay, he still loves me anyway," Emelia pointed to a picture frame with a man's picture in it, he had black hair and ocean blue eyes, he was dressed in a green suit which looked smart on his masculine body, he was handsome.

His face looked familiar but I'm pretty sure I have never met a prince in my life.

"Oh okay," I said to Emelia who looked dreamily at the man's picture.

"Back to business, so let's go through the contract you are about to sign." Emelia looked very serious now.

"Okay." Emelia picked up a document I didn't notice was sitting on the wooden center table before and opened it.

"According to the contract before signing, you have to provide accurate and genuine previous medical records. My husband and I don't want any complications." Emelia said and I nodded in understanding.

"You are entitled to a sum of twenty thousand euros for your monthly allowance which is exclusive to your final payment of five million euros." She continued.

Five million...I won't have to work for years and it's more than enough for Jake's treatment. I thought happily.

"You will be placed under our care and residence which means you will be living with us throughout your pregnancy." she paused and waited for my reaction.

"Wait, what?" I raised an eyebrow at her and she sat back in her seat.

"It is for the safety of both the baby and you. My husband and I want to be with you every step of the way."

"Can't I just stay at a separate apartment, I'll be fine and I'll make sure nothing happens to your baby." I tried to convince Emelia, I don't want to stay here with her and the prince, I felt like an intruder.

"No Cass, you can't stay in a separate apartment. You have to stay here with us." Emelia said and I sighed in response.

"Moving on, after the birth of the child you are not allowed to see the supposed baby."

"Okay." That is not a problem, I don't intend on having a special connection with the child. Thank God it's Emelia's egg, not mine.

"Lastly, any action which can be detrimental to the health of the child, like drinking alcohol, smoking, and drugs is prohibited."

"I don't do drugs and I am not an alcohol fan," I said and Emelia smiled softly.

"Good. Any questions Cass?" Emelia asked and I shook my head vigorously.

"I am perfectly fine with everything stated there," I replied pointing at the document Emelia was holding.

"Now that everything is settled we will go to the hospital for necessary tests and insemination next week," Emelia said with a satisfactory smile on her face.

"Next week?

"Yes"

"Don't you think that is a little early?" I asked nervously. "I mean can't we go for the insemination in two weeks," I added.

I mean before my life is taken away from me. I thought sadly.

"The earlier the better, now and me your account details, so I can send you some money," Emelia said.

"Okay," I replied and felt tears roll down my cheeks.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Now wipe your tears before Emelia sees. I scolded myself inwardly while dabbing at my face with a handkerchief I was holding before Emelia saw me.

I heard a car pull into the driveway of the mansion then Emelia stood up from her seat, a wide smile was spread across her face.

"He is here." She squealed happily walking towards the door to receive whoever was there.

"Welcome darling, I missed you so much, how was your trip?" Emelia babbled on and on while I shifted uncomfortably on the sofa.

Darling? The prince. My eyes widened in the realization of who it was Emelia was so glad to see.

They both walked into the living room hand in hand. I felt my body stiffen as the prince stared at me with piercing blue eyes, I summoned up all the courage left in me to look into his eyes then I remembered, his face had looked familiar in the picture Emelia showed me earlier because he was the same man who insulted me at the store where I work before I came to Andalusia.

I felt the anger resurface in me again,

"You." we both said in unison.
