"THE DEATH OF HER"

NOW THAT Zandro has mentioned it again, everything came flooding back to her mind. All the reasons that brought her into that huge house, particularly the main ground of their agreement— it's all for the power and position he wants to claim in a court of law. And to have that, Zandro has to prove himself of the qualities that the old magistrate was looking for from the line of most professional lawyers in the country to deserve the throne more.

"I would do that," Blythe agreed.

"Great... Now, what is it that you need for that idiot?"

"Well, the guy has a name and it's Luiz," she bravely said instead. "And the thing is that he should not be held accountable for what happened. It's me who forced him to take me out of your mansion. Luiz has been badly opposing my idea, but—"

"Stop beating around the bust..." He gave her an icy-cold stare. "Go straight to the point now."

"Punish me instead of him," she claimed without having a second thought. Blythe bit her lower lip, terrified of what she was doing but she had to face the consequence of her audacity to violate the rule. "I am the one to blame here. Just I and I would face the proper punishment for what I've done. Just please, don't hurt Luiz."

"Mi Amor..." There was doubt in his eyes as he closed the tiny gap between them. Zandro raised his large hand to touch her face, but a voice suddenly interrupted them.

"Zandro!"

A voice has once again startled the two from their alone time. This time they lifted their gaze towards the grand staircase where a beautiful woman was standing in the middle of the steps and seemed to have been watching them for a while. A few patterns of anger were building up on her face making a contour of indignation, Blythe didn't miss it as they watched her stepping down towards them.

"Too busy to check your phone, huh?" The way she talks to Zandro is very different from the other people around them. This woman does all the opposite, especially the roughness of her tone as she asked him.

She must be a close friend or a girlfriend perhaps?

Eventually, the beautiful woman's eyes shifted to Blythe. The worry written on her face causes a sharp arch on the woman's brows. "You got an important call in your office, five minutes ago. It's your father, and I think it's urgent."

Zandro immediately fished his phone from his pocket and as soon as he confirmed the notifications there he ran towards the staircase as if there was something to chase. Both Blythe and the woman watch him dashing until he's completely gone from their sight.

Intimidating silence replaced the background after they were left alone. As the woman with oceanic blue eyes turned to her the arch on her brow stayed sharp, from that point Blythe got to realize where this woman should be categorized on. Not a friend, not someone who would smile at her but an enemy who will make her stay hellish like those domineering servants.

"I heard about what you've done," she started with a tone lacking in feeling, just like what was on her elegant face. "The first time I saw you, I got a glimpse of the troubles you'll be giving in this mansion. Did Zandro tell you that he missed his important meeting today just to find you?"

That made Blythe feel worse. That was out of her plan, but that's the truth— she really caused him trouble, and of all the troubles in this world she really messed up on his work.

"I didn't know that it would happen," she admitted with her head hanging low. "But I will still apologize to Attorney Zandro later. I won't do it anymore."

"Do you think your sorry could mend something?" She said, scoffing. "Gosh, Miss Hernandez! You are too naive, but that can't vindicate you from what happened. The damage has been done, and it should not be happening again. Nevertheless, just because Zandro's not here doesn't mean that you're safe from the punishment you are going to get now... I'm pretty sure that you are aware that every mistake has its consequences, aren't you?"

Blythe doubts the woman's actions but she still motioned her head to agree. "I know that very much, and I've prepared myself for whatever punishment I would get from attor— I mean Zandro."

"Tsss, stupid..." she criticized in a whisper, looking disgusted as she started walking around Blythe. "If that's the case, let's start now."

Wait!

Is she really going to punish Blythe even if Zandro has explained about her "free trial" earlier?

Damn, Blythe's hose!

The aesthetically pleasing and wide garden where they held their wedding came into their view, as the woman brought her there for the punishment she was talking about. It's still breathtakingly amazing, the flowers in various colors and varieties were blooming there. Also those cute shrub trees around the garden fountain, and the magical architectured landscapes. Everything is well-organized and pretty clean as always.

Well, the mansion has so many servants to do the job. But why did she bring Blythe out there?

"See those wild climbing vines around the wall over there?" Her painted nails pointed at those climbing grasses that are ruining the view. They were plenty and thick, almost covering the wall. "Take all of those away, and make sure to leave it spotlessly clean. The cleaning materials were in the warehouse at the back, you just take them now and make it fast."

But the sun rays peeking from above faze her so much that Blythe fails to move immediately. The sun has not even touching her skin, yet she can feel the smoldering heat around her body. How worse could happen if she finally goes there to start her task?

"What now?"

Slowly, she turned to the cruel woman next to her. The arch in her brow went sharper, and it seemed that she was going to slaughter Blythe alive once she didn't move.

"Move!"

Shocked by her voice, Blythe dashed towards the warehouse wherever it is. There's a stoned pathway heading to the backyard, she ran on it despite the scorching heat burning her poor skin. This is what she gets for being a rule breaker.

The first room she luckily entered contained all the cleaning materials she would need. Blythe took them and put them into a basket, she also saw a not-so-dirty rug which she decided to take as well. Blythe would accept the punishment but not the torture and obviously, going there in broad daylight will gonna be painful for her...

As she started pulling out those wild vines on the wall, Blythe bit her lower lip as hard as she nearly tasted blood on it. This is a suicide mission! Although she had put some magic lotion on her skin earlier, it still hurts!

One hour later, Blythe was chasing her breath like a carabao who was done plowing a ten-hectare land. She can feel some set of eyes watching her, she's hoping for someone to share her work. But because of the woman who looks having fun watching her, nobody dares.

"Make it fast, there's still more!" she shouted as she sip from her lemonade.

This freaking contract she signed will really be the death of her…

"THE GARLIC" BLYTHE AND MRS. LADIGNON were both startled by a voice that suddenly joined their conversation, her body froze more when she felt her husband's warm arms envelop her small waist. Zandro planted his chin on her shoulder blades and his every breath on her skin were kisses that caused her electric shocks, making the hair on her nape rise. "Zandro!" Mrs. Ladignon reprimanded, amusedly shaking her head. "My goodness this man! We're still starting here and you're here again?" "What's wrong? I miss my wife," he said like he really meant it. "Can I join you two?" "And what about Lorenzo?" Mrs. Ladignon placed her hands on her waist. "You left him alone?" "Well, he got an important call." Zandro tightened his arms on her like he doesn't care about anyone's presence. "Hmmm... still no. Go back there because this is a girly bonding." Then Mrs. Ladignon turned to her like she was asking for help. "Blythe, please scold that stubborn." Their faces immediately met the second that

"THE NECKLACE" BLYTHE'S JOY was endless as she and Zandro headed to the dining room where they were going to have their breakfast with their guests. Zandro didn't allow her to walk by herself because her husband was still worrying that she might be relapsed, so he insisted on carrying her bridal style as they went out of their room. Bythe could feel many eyes watching the two of them, it doesn't feel good but since she was with Zandro they had to bow down and bit the bitterness to themselves."Oh! The love birds are here," Mrs. Ladignon greeted in glee. "Good morning."Zandro gently deposited her in an empty seat, then Blythe smiled sweetly as she greeted the couple back."How do you feel now, Blythe? I heard you've got an aching leg yesterday.""Unfortunately, yes, Ma'am. And I'm sorry that I failed to spend dinner with you.""No, hija. We understand," Judge Ladignon interjected. He put his cup of coffee down as he looked at Blythe with a small smile on his lips. "But you made your

The cuts made by her abuela's words in her chest have been much deeper than those she got from the trouble she encountered the other night, it has sharp daggers that continuously penetrate inside her. Claudia was left unmoving while her head was hanging low, it was a good thing though because the old woman won't get the chance to see the emotion she was failing to hide in her swollen eyes at the moment. The building up of any emotions on her face would get her into more punishments, she can't be weak! "I can't believe you let that scoundrel take your attention off the Monroes, Claudia! What if you've missed a very important detail in their conversation, huh?" Senora Constanza motioned her well-painted fingers in grace, then the server next to her automatically flicked the golden fan to bring her some cool air. "Que barbaridad! I personally picked you

"LULLABY"HOW MANY times did Blythe admit to herself that Attorney Vizmanos is a God's gift to women? Well, it's been a long time already since she first saw him being featured in one of the famous magazine folds, and then on the day she personally met him in the club where she's working as a waitress, she found herself developing a deeper feeling for the guy. Blythe refused to label it as an attraction because it seemed too deep for her simple admiration, but admiration can also be a shallow word for the way her heart feels... Now, she's confused.A simple fight happened between them that day when Blythe insisted to help him with the wounds he got from her boss— Mr. Vizmanos, who's also Zandro's brother— who just suddenly punched him in the face even though Zandro just saved her and her fellow employee from those pervert customers back then. Blythe presented herself as his fan and also one of his scholars in his foundation, but instead of being friendly to her, Attorney Vizmanos th

Blythe knows it very well, but don't they have done too much for today?"I know you are very much tired," he uttered while pulling her closer to his body. "Common, Mi Amor.""B-but I can still manage it, Zandro... I might burden you.""I rather suffer than you." An encouraging smile flashed on his face. "Now, would you please..."Blythe can actually feel the pain piercing her feet because of walking almost the whole day, but they have to be with their special guests as they stroll nearly the whole farm. To support them, she never let anyone see that she's in pain because they were in a show and she's an actress; she should act better but the pain in her feet just won't cooperate.Zandro gently guided her over his masculine back, and as she embraced his neck s

"SHE WAS MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND" AS THEIR farm tour continues, their conversation went astray into different topics as well since the Ladignon couple has been very energetic and too nosy about Zandro and Blythe's love story. Their sudden arrival feels like a test they actually prepared for a long time but it is still shocking and stressing them out. After a very long and exhausting walk, they finally settled themselves into the comfort of the soft picnic blanket arranged for the four of them underneath the huge Narra tree. From there is the breathtaking view of the greenery that brings them the aroma of crisp air that soothes their bodies, as well as the lake that was as silver as diamond flame; the melody of its peaceful current is a piece of music to anyone's ear. It feels amazing to connect with these wonderful creations, it's taking all of her stress and heavy emotions away. Blythe gently shut her eyes and a sweet smile crept upon her pretty face. "So, Blythe..." it's Mrs. Ladi

"SUN ALLERGY" ANSWERS slapped Blythe right as they went out of his room with their fingers intertwined like it was made for such a purpose, they stayed like that while they were walking towards the garden where their visitors were waiting for them.Right from the rectangular white garden table is the old yet, famous and great magistrate, Mr. Lorenzo Ladignon in his not-so-formal white linen short-sleeve, dark linen shorts, and comfy deck shoes. The air he was carrying matched his casualty, and beside him stood his sophisticated wife, Mrs. Jamilla Ladignon in her white floral maxi dress and blonde curled hair. Both were busy talking about some funny things when they saw them coming, Judge Ladignon helped his wife to rise for them. "So, is she the lucky girl?" Mrs. Ladignon inquired as she greeted her with a cheek kiss and warm hug after. "You're so pretty, hija. Attorney Zandro never go wrong with his choices. Really excellent at everything, I would say again." "Of course, sweethear

"PART OF THE CONTRACT" BLYTHE FURRED like a contented cat when the sweet and refreshing morning came peeking through the glasses of her big window, inviting and teasing her half-opened eyes to watch it and savor the melting fog on the amazing view of the horizon. This morning feels so special, far different from all the mornings she had in her whole life of existence; and it fazes her a bit why. What's with this morning that her chest feels lighter and so is the whole room? When she finally decided to open her eyes, it was welcomed by this grayish and shiny ceiling above. So different from the serenity that used to bring by the colored cream gypsum ceiling in the room she's been using these past weeks. This one looks wider and pretty amazing that she shut her mouth from yawning the second that she realized she was not in her room. Oh, dang it! The whole room looks classier from all the clear glasses around, plus the chandelier on top. The domination of neutral colors makes it a lo

From the guy who's broken-hearted over one woman, to this playboy who's collecting pretty—" "I don't know this criminal that much, but we have things to settle," Zandro answered without lifting his sharp green eyes away from the woman he has been looking for for so many years already. "You go to Antonette and tell her to get the car ready." It was as if Zandro and Claudia's gazes were brushed with the strongest adhesive that they can't lift their eyes away from each other, they can't even blink in fear that one of them might start an attack. But Zandro knows better that his father was just around and he won't risk his precious image just for the sake of his molten anger towards this thief, he's too good to be like Dimas. Of course, he has another way and he won't let her slip away again. "Are you le
