Chapter seven - Abaddon

There’s screaming and sobbing when I come to. Gene is pulling me upright, shaking me and calling my name in a panic. My body hurts, far more than I remember it hurting before but it takes seeing Seraphina completely covered in blood, Levi trying to talk to her and stop her screaming for her dad, to remember what was going on.

I try to scramble to my feet, looking around and seeing the dead bodies of the six rogues, the closest one to me is barely recognisable, torn apart.

“Did you do this?” I ask Gene, falling back onto my ass. He looks at me in confusion, but doesn’t get a chance to say anything because Seraphina’s dad is bursting through the woods and gathering her into his arms.

My father and his warriors follow closely behind, his eyes falling on me and narrowing, lips thin as he sees Levi come to support me
