Ashier, The Cursed Alpha

CHAPTER TWO

Ashier, The Cursed Alpha

Blair was thrown into a cold and damp cell, the iron bars closing with a resounding clang behind her. She huddled in a corner, her mind racing with fear and confusion. How had she ended up here? And what did these werewolves want with her?

As she tried to make sense of her situation, she heard footsteps approaching. A moment later, the alpha king appeared in front of her cell, his piercing green eyes locked onto hers.

"You will stay here until I decide what to do with you," he said, his voice cold and unyielding. Blair could feel her heart sinking in her chest – she knew that she was in serious trouble.

As the alpha king turned and strode away, Blair could hear the sound of his heavy footsteps echoing through the corridor. She was alone, trapped in this strange and terrifying world.

Meanwhile, the alpha king himself was lost in thought. He knew that his days were numbered – the curse that had been placed upon him would soon claim his life. He could feel the darkness closing in, and he knew that he had little time left.

As he got to his private chamber, he paced back and forth, he couldn't help but wonder if there was any way to break the curse. But despite his power and influence, he had yet to find a solution.

Ashier paced back and forth, his thoughts racing as he tried to come up with a plan. He knew that he couldn't let his pack know about the curse – they already hated him enough as it was.

But he also knew that he has just few months, he had to find a way to break the curse before it was too late.

As he sat down at his bed, he picked up a book of ancient spells from his bedside table and began to study it intently. He had read through the book many times before, but he hoped that this time he might find something that he had missed.

Hours passed as he poured over the ancient text, his eyes growing weary from the strain.

He had read the book over a thousand times but he was yet to find the solution to his problem, he was yet to find the answers to his questions.

As powerful and ruthless as he appeared to others, his curse was his weakness and he had been trying his possible best to hide this from everyone.

Ashier had been to lots of witches and soothsayers in quest for answer, he wanted to know if there was a cure but all they could see was darkness swirling around him.

He was going to die and there was no way around it.

Just then, his chosen mate, Nora entered the room, her eyes smoldering with desire. But the alpha king was in no mood for her advances. Ashier had far more pressing matters on his mind.

“Your highness,” Nora greeted with her head bent as she move closer to him, “I heard you just got back from the forest. How as it?” she smiled and sat beside him on the bed.

Ashier smiled, he only got mated to Nora on the will of his father so they could settle the dispute between his pack and her pack.

The pack were lied to that Nora was Ashier’s real mate because they were all against the alliance.

He refused to get mated to someone who wasn’t his mate at first but his father made him do it, he had no other choice. His father had said to him that his stepbrother was going to get mated to Nora and take the throne instead if he refuses, so he had to compel.

“Yes, and it was fun,” Ashier stated and moved away from her in the best way he could not to make her notice.

“I’m so glad you had fun your highness,” Nora chuckled and closed the gap between them.

Her hands went to his chest, unbuttoning him and her fingers running through his hair, “I’ve missed you,” she murmured, “I decided to come here, maybe you will have my time now, you have been staying away from me and…”

"Stop Nora," Ashier said, his voice cold and distant. He removed her hands and stared at her, "I have no time for such. I have important things to do and I need to start that now."

“Are you turning me down?” Nora groaned, “It takes just few minutes, and we’re done Your highness, don’t do this to me,” she whined and began to unbutton him again.

“Stop Nora, we can’t do this.”

“Your highness, we need a heir,” she went on, “We’ve been together for years now and I’ve never been pregnant, don’t you think we should have a child?”

Ashier chuckled, “You and I know that whatever child we have will never be our heir,” he laughed and stood up from the bed and walked to the window, “What’s the essence of bringing a child to this world when he would just end up like my stepbrother?” He shook his head, “No Nora, I won’t do that.”

“And what do you think is wrong with your stepbrother?” Nora asked and stood up to join him at the window.

Ralph, Ashier’s stepbrother was older than him but because he was born by his dad’s chosen mate and not the real mate, he couldn’t become the pack leader.

Ralph was made the leader of the royal soldiers, and even with Ashier’s niceness and sincerity towards him, he wasn’t the best brother.

“He is healthy, he is doing well and he is even the leader of the royal soldiers,” Nora went on, “I don’t care if my son is like him your highness, I just want to have a child,” she wrapped her hands around him, “With you, I want to carry your baby your highness.”

Ashier sighed and removed her hand from his waist, he cupped her face, “I understand you, I want a child as much as you do, but not now Nora,” he stepped away from her and leaned on the window frame, looking outside, “I have things to do now, and I will appreciate it if you can leave me to do that.”

Nora looked disappointed, but she knew better than to push him, there was nothing more she could do than trying to convince him to get down with her but not anymore.

“I will leave now Your highness.”

With a sultry smile, Nora turned and left the room, leaving the alpha king alone with his thoughts.

Ashier knew that he had to find a way to break the curse – not just for his own sake, but for the sake of his people.

He had ruled with an iron fist for many years, but he knew that his time was running out. Unless he could find a solution, his kingdom would be plunged into chaos, and his legacy would be forever tarnished.

He went back to his bed and fell on it, staring blankly at the ceiling, his whole life seemed like a mess to himself.

He was the alpha king, he was strong and powerful to his people, but none of them knew the problem he was going through, the pain and agony he had been through and the one he would still have to pass through.

Ashier stood up and walked to the giant mirror in his room.

He stood in front of the mirror with his eyes peering at his own image. He pulled off his shirt and turned his back to the mirror, revealing a big wound that ran from his left shoulder blade to his lower back. It was a deep gash that looked like it had been made by a sharp blade.

The wound was big and scary, and it was still fresh, oozing black energy that seeped out of his powers. The black energy pulsed from the wound, a sickly aura that seemed to have a life of its own. It was a reminder of the battle he had fought just few months hours ago, one that he had barely survived.

Ashier has gone into a fight to save his kingdom from being taken over by the neighboring pack, he was close to being victorious when a witch from the pack casted a spell and shot him with the arrow of death which brought about the big wound on his back.

Although, he still ended up being victorious as the werewolves couldn’t take over his kingdom, but that war had marked his name on the dead list, he was just a living dead.

The dark energy from the wound had been seeping out all his energy and according to the witch of his won pack, it would seep all his energy and he would die.

Ashier grimaced at the sight of the wound, his fingers tracing the edges of the gash. It was deep enough to leave a scar, one that would never fade away. He knew that the wound would never heal, the black energy emanating from it made him worry. He could feel his powers being drained, the black energy sapping away his strength.

He was weaker than before, he wasn’t the strong king he was known has before the war.

He leaned closer to the mirror, studying the wound intently. He could see the tendrils of black energy reaching out, searching for something to latch onto. He knew that if he didn't do something soon, the wound would consume him, he would lose his powers forever, he would lose his strength and die.

But what more could he do?

Ashier had been to everyone who he thinks could be of help to him, he had visited everyone who could help him but he couldn’t find any help.

He was told that there was no way out for him, he was definitely going to die.

Ashier let out a deep sigh, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He knew that he had to find a way to heal the wound, to banish the black energy from his body. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, trying to calm his mind.

He knew that he had to be strong, to fight against the darkness that threatened to engulf him.

He dragged his feet back to his bed and fell on it. His father once told him that humans were their enemies and they were even bad luck, he believed he would have to eliminate them as soon as possible because the last thing he would need at his present condition was bad luck.

He sighed, “When will this be over?”
