The Warning

CHAPTER EIGHT

The Warning

Blair was lost in thought as she and the other slaves were led back to the cell. She couldn't shake off what she had seen in the woods - the prince, Ralph, making out with one of the maids. She knew it was dangerous to have witnessed that, and she feared that they would come for her.

She knew they would want her to keep that as a secret and they would come for her. She couldn’t stop the feeling that kept lingering at her, the feeling that she was in danger and these people would come for her just to make her speak.

As they were pushed into the cell, Blair's mind was racing with different thoughts. She tried to keep her composure, but her heart was pounding with fear. She couldn't believe what she had seen - the prince, who she had only seen once, was there, in the woods, with one of the slaves.

Blair knew really well that they would come for her, she knew she couldn’t escape that and she was scared of what they might do to her. Blair knew they would want her to be silence and what they could do to make sure that she was silent made her so scared.

What if they hurt her? What if they do the same thing they did to Liza to her? She was so scared.

Blair couldn't help but wonder how long this had been going on and how many other slaves the prince had used for his own pleasure. She knew that if she was caught, she could face serious consequences. She was confused, was the prince having an affair with that one maid or there were other maids that he does that with.

She tried to keep calm as she lay down on the cold, hard floor of the cell, but the image of Ralph and the maid kept playing in her mind. She didn't know what would happen to her if they found out, but she was sure that it wouldn't be good.

Blair's heart was pounding with fear as she thought about what she had witnessed in the woods again, the thought and images won’t leave her head. She felt vulnerable and exposed, like she was a target for something she couldn't understand. The uncertainty of her safety and what could happen to her consumed her thoughts. Every step she took, she couldn't breath she breathe, the feeling of being watched or followed lingered on. Her hands were shaking and her breathing was shallow, she felt like she was going to pass out at any moment.

She knew that she had stumbled upon a dangerous secret, and the consequences of being caught could be dire. She didn't know who to trust or where to turn, and the thought of being locked up in this dirty cell for the rest of her life made her stomach churn. All she could do was pray and hope that somehow, she could find a way out of this situation.

As Blair sat there, her mind racing through different thoughts, she saw a guard walk into the cell, his face long and his stare was so intimidating.

The guard looked around he stopped when his eyes met hers.

“Yes you,” he said and walked to Blair, he pulled her up from the floor forcefully, “Come with me,” he dragged her out.

“Where are you taking her to?” Emily shouted at the guard who stopped and gave her a horrible look.

“You had better sit there without uttering another word, do what is good for you slave,” he warned and dragged Blair out.

As the guard dragged her away, she knew there was something wrong and something was about to happen, but she couldn’t really tell what it was.

“Where are you taking me to?” Blair shouted, “Why am I the only one you are pulling out, I did nothing wrong,” she screamed.

“Just keep quiet and follow me, or I slap you hard,” the guard yelled at her, “You have no idea what is about to happen to you,” he added.

Blair’s heart skipped multiple beats in a second, what was going to happen to her? What was he going to do to her?

Blair knew for a fact that something was about to happen and she also knew that it was because of what she saw couple of minutes ago.

Blair shook in fear, what would they do to her? She already knew that she was in danger and she got more confirmation with what the guard said. What was prince Ralph going to do to her? She didn’t know what her fate was and that made her so scared.

“Please let me go,” she begged.

“Just keep quiet and follow me!” He yelled.

Blair's heart was beating fast as the guard kept dragging her along the corridors. She felt helpless and vulnerable, like a prey being led to its predator. Her mind raced with thoughts of what could happen to her. She wondered if they were taking her to the prince or they were only going to pass a judgement on her. She prayed that it wasn't the latter, knowing that she might get spared if she promises to keep her mouth closed about what she saw.

Blair's legs felt weak, and she stumbled a few times as the guard pulled her roughly. Her mind was in a blur, and she couldn't think straight. All she could do was hold on to the guard's hand and beg him to let her go. But he was unrelenting, and Blair knew that there was no point in resisting. She knew that she had to face whatever awaited her, and that scared her the most.

The uncertainty of her fate and the fear of the unknown made her feel helpless. She wished that she could go back to her old life, where everything was predictable and safe. But now, she was in a world where danger lurked around every corner, and she didn't know if she would make it out alive.

Blair gasped when she saw the maid she caught with the prince from afar. She knew it, she knew the guard was taking her to them.

“Eben, excuse us for some minutes,” she said to the guard who stepped away from us.

“And you,” she smiled and grabbed my arm, “I have nothing much to say to you, I just want to warn you against what you are planning. Keep whatever you saw back there a secret. Is that clear?”

Blair nodded, her heart raced as she listened to the maid's warning. She was terrified and didn't know what to do. The thought of being killed for what she saw was too much for her to bear. She nodded her head again, indicating that she understood the maid's warning.

The maid continued to speak in a hushed tone, telling Blair that she had seen too much and that the prince couldn't afford to have her spreading rumors about what she had seen. She advised Blair to keep her mouth shut and not tell anyone about what she saw.

“If you make any attempt to speak, then the prince won’t think twice before cutting off your tongue, you won’t be able to say a word again,” she laughed.

Blair was overwhelmed with fear and didn't know what to do. She felt trapped and alone in this strange world. She wanted to go back to her old life, to the familiar comforts of her home and family.

As the maid finished speaking, the guard returned to take Blair away. She knew that she had to be careful and keep her head down if she wanted to survive. She had to find a way to escape from this place and get back to her old life.

Blair was taken back to the cell where she sat up at one corner, her arms around her as she was lost in deep thoughts.

One of her friends, Emily, walked up to her and held her, asking what was wrong, but Blair couldn't bring herself to tell them what happened. She was afraid that if she spoke up, it would only make things worse for her. She had been warned to keep her mouth shut, else she was going to regret it, she couldn’t afford to put her life or anyones life in danger.

As they sat there in silence, Blair's mind raced with thoughts of how she could possibly escape and get back to her own world. She didn't belong here, and she couldn't bear the thought of spending the rest of her life as a slave in this place.

Her fear and uncertainty were overwhelming, and she couldn't help but wonder what her fate would be. Would she be punished for what she saw? Would they try to hurt her or even kill her?

Blair knew she had to be strong and find a way to survive, but it seemed impossible in this cruel world. All she could do was pray for a miracle and hope that somehow, she would find a way out.
