Don't let her leave

Evangeline's POV

I don’t even look up when Damien’s reply hits my screen. The words blaze against the black background, each one heavier than the last. Don’t let her leave

My gaze shifts to Briar, Kaia, whatever name she’s wearing now.

She hasn’t moved. Her posture is still unnervingly perfect, her chin tilted just enough to suggest composure without arrogance.

“I’m sorry,” I say, breaking the silence, “I need you to stay for a while. There’s… something I have to discuss with you.”

If she feels any unease, she hides it well. “Of course, ma’am. I have nowhere else I need to be at the moment.”

That answer is too neat, too easy.

Kaia had never been neat. She was all jagged edges and reckless bursts of energy.

But then again, maybe that’s what makes this so terrifying.

I step around my desk and lean against the edge, folding my arms. “Where did you say you’re from?”

“From?” Her eyes narrow, just slightly. “New York, most recently. Before that, I travelled a lot.”

“That’s vague.”

She smiles

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   It's Him!

Evangeline's POVIt's a man’s voice, urgent, almost angry, laced with something that prickled against my skin in recognition. I knew him. My heart stuttered, tripping over itself as I strained to place the memory, but my body betrayed me — heavy, chained to this sterile bed with wires and tubes that sang my weakness in rhythmic beeps.“We… can’t risk moving her again,” he said, firmer this time. “If you do, you might kill her.”The muffled reply was lost under the steady hiss of oxygen, but my pulse throbbed against my ears. That voice. I clung to it, trying to thread it back to the moments before the blood, before the darkness swallowed me.Damien.No. Not Damien. My chest tightened. It wasn’t him. I would know his voice anywhere, burned into me like fire. This one was sharper, clipped, carrying authority instead of desperation. Familiar, yes, but distant like someone I’d known in another life.I wanted to shout but when I opened my mouth, only a rasp slipped free, swallowed whole by

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   He Eats Me Out Completely

Evangeline's POVEvangeline's POV The first thing I felt was a crushing weight, heavy stillness pressing down on my chest, like someone had draped the world across me and forgotten to lift it away. Then a sound came, piercing beeping that jabbed at my ears in steady, merciless rhythm. Voices swam in and out, muffled, distant, metals clinked. Shoes squeaked against the floor. My lashes fluttered open, right white stabbed through the haze. I tried to move, but my body refused. Limbs heavy, mouth dry as sand with a raw throat. And then sudden footsteps was rushing.“She’s awake, get Dr. Miller, now!” The words seemed was loud, bouncing through my skull. Awake? Was that me? The room blurred with motion. Shapes leaned over me, nurses that was too many at once. Cold fingers pressed against my wrist, checking my pulse. Another adjusted something at my side; the hiss of oxygen filled the air. A penlight flashed across my eyes forcing me to squint. “Easy,” a woman’s voice said, soft bu

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   A bait

Damien’s POV The night swallowed us whole. The warehouse doors clanged shut behind thirty men, the sound echoing like the toll of a bell. Boots hit the ground in unison as we moved through the empty streets in the veins of the city. The air was sharp with the scent of asphalt, gasoline, and the faintest trace of iron blood, old but lingering. She was close. I could feel it. Edward stalked at my side, his hand resting on the knife strapped to his thigh. The others fanned out behind us, a ripple of power contained in human forms. My wolves. My brothers. And we were hunting. I didn’t speak. I didn’t need to. Every one of them could feel my rage, my hunger for blood, bleeding off me like heat. We swept through alleys, warehouses, deserted corners of the city where even streetlights dared not glow. Each step pulled me tighter, coiling the heaviness in my chest until it was ready to break. Then Edward’s voice cut the silence.“Alpha.” I followed his gaze. At the far end of th

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   After Me

Damien’s POV The hours blurred. I couldn’t tell how long I had been sitting there, fingers wrapped around Evangeline’s motionless hand, eyes fixed on the gentle rise and fall of her chest. The machines did the breathing for her, their beeps steady and infuriatingly calm, as if they weren’t mocking me with every sound. I hadn’t moved. I hadn’t spoken. The world could have burned outside these hospital walls, and I wouldn’t have known. Then the door clicked open. The sound was soft, careful. A presence entered the room that didn’t belong to a nurse or a doctor. I didn’t need to look up to know who it was. “Alpha,” Edward’s voice came low, respectful, but edged with caution. I lifted my head slowly. My Beta stood in the doorway, tall and steady, though his eyes flickered with unease when they landed on Eva. I didn’t blame him. Seeing her like this… it stripped the soul bare. “You came,” I muttered, my voice raw. “I did,” he said, stepping inside. He closed the door quietly behin

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   When did I say those words?

Damien's POV “She's alive” The surgeon’s mouth moved, but for a second I couldn’t hear him. The world had gone underwater, sounds muffled, colors sharper than they should be. All I caught was one word—“Alive.” It hit me like a fist to the chest. My knees nearly buckled. I hadn’t realized until then how tightly I’d been holding myself together, how much weight was crushing my lungs. But before I could breathe before I could even let the relief in, the rest followed. “She’s stable for now,” he said, his voice heavy with the kind of tone I’d heard too often from battlefield medics. The kind that warned the next words weren’t mercy. “But the blood loss… it was catastrophic. We managed to repair the damage. Her body is alive, but…” That pause. That fucking pause. “But what?” My voice was sharper than I intended, slicing through the sterile hallway. A nurse jumped at the sound. “She’s in a coma,” he said at last. “We don’t know when or if she’ll wake.” The bottom dropped out of me

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Is she alive

Damien's POV The hallway was too quiet for a place where someone might be dying. Not silent, no, silence would’ve been merciful instead, there was that low, constant hum of fluorescent lights, the faint squeak of rubber soles far down the corridor, the murmur of voices that never carried enough for me to catch the words. Somewhere overhead, an intercom crackled to life and called for a nurse I didn’t know, then fizzled into static. But where I stood, right outside the double doors to the operating room it felt like the whole building was holding its breath. And me? I wasn’t good at waiting. Never had been. I could track a target for days without rest, sit in the shadows until my legs went numb, but that was different. Out there, I could move, react, control the outcome. Here, with Eva’s blood drying on my hands and nothing to do but stand here, I might as well have been locked in a cage. The clock above the nurse’s station ticked loud enough to feel personal. Every second was a r
