INICIAR SESIÓNSienna's POV
How come my mate is my ex’s Dad? They didn't even have any resemblance, and upon hearing of my mate breaking up with his girlfriend, it only meant that he didn't have a wife. Was I dreaming or what? I couldn't come to comprehend it, and that made me become lost in thought, until someone tapped me on my shoulder.
I shuddered and turned to my mate, and he wore that smile as though everything was settled, but beside me still stood Silas.
“What did you just say, Dad? That she's your fiancée?” Silas growled and then leaned lower to look at my face. He looked me deep in the eyes until I begged the moon goddess that he finds out nothing. What would be my fate if he happened to find a reason to insist that I was Ivy? No one needed to know my real identity, or I would be dead meat; even my mate would reject me instantly. “How could you look like her this much? She's an alpha and not an omega, or I would have no reason to say you aren't her,” he muttered to my face before standing erect and facing his father again.
Oh goddess! Maybe it's for the good that my wolf became my omega. It looked like it was my only saving point, so I shouldn't wish to be an alpha again, because the moment I do, a lot of people will come after me.
My fingers were so sweaty, twisting each other, and my heart raced like I was in a marathon. I prayed inwardly that Silas would leave the office, so I could speak to his father, to know why he said I was his fiancée, when we had just met again and hadn't even stayed for up to an hour. I was truly enraged that he knew we were mates and left me that way at the hospital.
“Can you just go back to your wife? Mirella is in labor, and I think it's time to show how deeply affectionate you are to her. So go stay with her instead and quit trying to tell me what woman to keep by my side.” My mate scolded his son; his jaw tightened.
I wanted to see what Silas' expression was like, but that would cause him to recall that someone who looked like his dead mate was here. If he knew I was Ivy, what would he do? He didn't even love me in the past, nor did he take my side. He called me a murderer just like others, said I deserved the death penalty, and also rejected me. So would he have drawn me back to my family if I happened to be an alpha?
“Fine! But I thought I can't stand you dumping another woman again. How many more will you dump before getting married? I'm really tired of this.” Silas said calmly and began leaving.
I turned to look at his retreating figure when my mate asked a question that made my breath hang in my throat. “Are you truly Ivy? Do you know Mirella?” he asked. Then I recalled that he mentioned the name earlier.
My face twisted. Was it Mirella, my stepsister, or was there another woman with that name?
I looked at my mate, my heart palpitating. If he found out about my past, he was going to reject me, too. In fact, at that point, I didn't even know whether I needed a mate or not, because I wouldn't want to be between father and son. That would make it easier for my identity to be exposed.
“Silas had a mate, Ivy, from the Ice Moon Pack. I didn't know what she looked like, even after I heard she was poisoned and banished for murder. And since Silas had an interest in the pack rulers, he shifted to choose the mate's stepsister as his luna, and they've been married for over two years now.” he paused and relaxed on the seat's backrest. “If I had seen what Ivy looked like, I would have known if Silas was overreacting or not.”
I sucked my inner lip, not too shocked to hear that Silas chose my step sister after rejecting me, because he'd always compared us. And now that I thought about it, he had an eye on Mirella but didn't know how to go about it because we were mates. He betrayed me, hurt me like I didn't deserve to be loved. If he had chosen another woman aside from my step sister, then it would make sense.
But all those were useless now, because I wouldn't take him back if he needed another chance…and I wouldn't want to have anything to do with him either. I'll only assume that my step sister picked up the trash that I dumped, because there was nothing good about Silas, and she, too, lacked the conscience to accept her step sister's mate.
Most importantly, it was all good that my second chance mate didn't know me in the past, so it was the opportunity for me to end this. With the tone of his voice and expression, I was sure he would regret saving me if he found out I was a murderer. I looked up to him with a smile, “I am not who he thinks about.”
Being rejected the second time would hurt, but it was better than being torn to death again after years of striving to survive out there. I am now Sienna, so no one must know that I'm Ivy, and for that to keep happening, I have to stay away from anyone who knows a glimpse of my past.
I forced up a smile, dipped my hand into my little handbag, and brought out the black card he gave me, then placed it on his desk. “You don't know, but I've been searching for you since you left without a word. Now that we met again, it will be good if we end things on good terms.”
‘End things? Who's doing that with you? Why should I end things with my mate after years of not finding him?’ my wolf snarled in my head, and I bit my lower lip. ‘Look, Enna, stop whatever you're scheming. Silas doesn't know us, my mate also wants us, so I'm not letting him go.’
‘You're daydreaming. Wake up from slumber if you don't know our life is on the line now.’ I retorted to her and kept my face steady, staring back at the man before me.
He took the card, looked at it for some time, and pushed it back. “I gave it because that was the only thing I could offer my mate at that time.”
I scoffed and nodded, “I see. But, I really wanted to ask why you left even after knowing we were mates, now you just told your son that I was your fiancée. What is going on? I'm just here for an interview…”
“To be honest, I thought you were a human because I didn't sense your wolf. Second, you looked so little, and I mistook you for a kid and even cursed the moon goddess for giving me an underage mate. I don't do women below twenty-one years old, so I had to leave quietly and not hurt you,” he gestured and leaned his arms on the desk, eyes pinned on my face. “Seeing you now, I was so stupid not to ask questions back then. You grew so large and tall, more beautiful and presentable. I could guess your age to be twenty-three or over. That's why I said that with my full chest, because you're my first mate and I wouldn't ever lose you.”
I took a deep swallow, watching his lips move, how he blinked and gestured while explaining all that. When his throat bobbled, I found myself drowning in fantasies of being grabbed into his arms. This was the man who made me soaked up in my juices just by thinking about him…and now that we met, I was going to…
“Are you listening to me, Sienna?” He knocked on the desk, and I flinched, nodding so much that one would think I lost it. “So, why were you so thin back then? What about your family?”
I suddenly began feeling hot and wiped my neck with my face towel. My eyes landed on the card again, and I shook my head at it. Since it had found its owner, I shouldn't return with it. If I told him I began taking care of myself with the money from the card, would he think I was blabbering? But his son never had feelings or interest in me because I always looked unkempt.
Breathing out, I moistened my lips and said to him, “Sir…”
“Sir?” he scoffed and shook his head. “I am the founder of this company, and the alpha king of this pack, so you can call me Nolan.”
I nodded, “Alpha Nolan…”
“Nolan!” he corrected, and I pressed my lips together. “What? Are you gonna call me that when you're my mate? Drop the honorifics.”
Again, I nodded, “Nolan, I would like to say that I'm no longer interested in the job, and would also love it if we reject each other and part ways henceforth.” My wolf pounded in my head, sneering angrily, but I didn't care. “I would love to pay you back for everything you did for me. You've been the reason for my survival, so please, what can I do as payback? I'd really like you to continue with your girlfriend.”
His gaze narrowed at me, and then he stood from his chair, “Why do you want that? Is it just because of my ex-girlfriend?”
My chest was pounding, and I wished he would just accept my request.
“Or are you truly Ivy and want to stay away from Silas?” he asked again, this time almost close to me.
A scorching heat enveloped me as he mentioned the exact reason I wanted this. My life mattered so much that I shouldn't lose it because of a feeling that could die. Besides, he wouldn't hesitate to reject me, too, if I were Ivy.
“And you want to pay me back for my kindness?” he added, and his arm landed over my back, his face closer to mine, but I was trembling so much that I couldn't look up to him. “If that's what you want, then I really need one thing from you.”
A heavy breath left through my lips while I waited to hear him out.
“Let's be fake lovers for three months. Act as my fiancée for three months, and you will no longer owe me,” he whispered to me.
I slowly turned to the side, and my eyes locked with his. He looked so serious, and my heart was wavering. How would I fake a relationship when I was trying to escape being in one with him? I really didn't want to owe him, but why should I do this as payback?
Sienna's POVI couldn't come up with any reason I couldn't be his fiancée, and he insisted it was his only wish I should grant if I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with him. The thought of it was already deteriorating, but I was already tired and didn't know how to oppose him again. He offered me my employment letter, but still refused to take back his card, so I left his office. It's a pity I got a mate who was every woman's dream, but I had to decide to get rid of my feelings towards him because of my past. These three months, he insists I would be his possession, was already enough for his son or my family to find out about me and put me down, and he would still not save my ass as his son did.So, was it really worth it? Would I risk my life just for some feelings? When I walked out of the company’s building, my eyes went straight to the garage, and I happened to lock eyes with Silas. I subdued my nervousness, held my shoulders high while walking down towards the gate. At

THREE YEARS LATER…Sienna’s POVMy wolf chuffed the moment we heard Eve honking her car horn from outside. She had already arrived, whereas I was still trying to put on some makeup. I glanced at the wall clock, and seeing the time, I dropped everything, rubbed my palm on my well-packed hair and exited the house.I wouldn't be so stupid as to lose a job because of makeup that would lead me nowhere. She waved her hand at me while I hurried closer. I pulled the car door open and stepped in, then put on the seatbelt. “I didn't know you would be here this morning, girl. Aren't you going to your office?” I asked her, and she only smiled and started the car. “What's funny? Did you find any clues about the man?” I asked, and she pulled a long face while shaking her head.Maybe I could just celebrate three years of searching for my saviour and yet to find him. “What business do you even have with that man? I'm certain he isn't as important as the interview you're heading for today, because I
“By the power bestowed on me by the late alpha king, I sentence you to death by poisoning with a Black Howl Concoction, and then be banished to die outside the pack.”My chest dropped. I placed my palms on the floor, unable to look up to the Minister of Justice who had imposed a penalty on me. I had tried my best to explain to them how I wasn't responsible for this offence, but no one listened.I didn't kill my father. I didn't do it.Why would I poison the only man who'd loved me effortlessly since childhood? They called me a bad omen for living and my mum passing on after I was delivered, but my father still believed that I wasn't responsible for that and treated me with kindness. So why should I have done that? Now, they also believed it was my bad omen that pushed me into poisoning the man I always prayed to the moon goddess so that he would get well.“Take her out!” came the commanding voice of the minister, and I was dragged up by my two arms and out of the throne room. Tears b
