"Congratulations, Luna, you're pregnant."

My jaw dropped in disbelief at this happy news. For almost four years I had been married to Rowan Kingston, Alpha of the Red Fang Pack, and I had always been considered barren.

"Are you serious, doctor? It's been four years..."

“Why are you doubting it, Luna? You are pregnant, and this is Alpha Rowan’s child. You have to tell him. Finally, the Alpha has an heir.”

I clutched my bag. I was so happy then I stood up. Tears of joy rolled down my cheeks.

“Thank you, Doctor. Thank you so much.”

I couldn't wait to tell Rowan about my pregnancy. Time and again, the pack members and Elders had pressured Rowan to have children and called me useless Luna. And finally, I could proudly announce that I had given an heir to the pack.

I walked down the hallway to my room, but as I passed the servants' quarters, I accidentally heard moaning, make my track stop.

“Alpha, yes. Oh, please. I like this.”

It was Susan, the omega who worked in this house. Why was she calling out to the Alpha? A sense of dread pooled in my stomach even as morbid curiosity drew me closer.

Suzan’s door wasn’t closed properly, leaving a small gap. I peeked inside. And instantly, my body froze, my knees weak and powerless.

My heart shattered into pieces when I saw Rowan naked with Susan. He was buried deep inside her. He thrust repeatedly with great passion. I had never seen Rowan so passionate when making love to me.

"You deliberately wore sexy clothes in front of me, huh!" Rowan squeezed Susan's hips. His wild gaze shattered me into pieces.

"You want an heir, Alpha. How about I give you one?"

"Is that even possible?"

Suzan laughed seductively while moaning with pleasure.

"Sure, but what about Luna?"

"Hmmm..." Rowan growled, seemingly reaching climax. His thrusts grew stronger and faster. Their voices became more passionate.

Rowan let out a long groan, signaling that he had conquered that maid. He then lay down beside her.

"Tell me, Alpha. What would you do if I could give you offspring?"

Rowan kissed her forehead. My blood boiled at the sight. In my three years of marriage, Rowan had always been cold. His main concern was always about children. Our intimate moments were nothing more than a cold obligation. Our marriage happened because of a mate bond we didn't want. As far as I knew, Rowan’s heart belonged only to his late first love, who had died in the war.

"I will make that child an Alpha," Rowan replied.

"Don't you want to make me Luna?"

"That's difficult if Savannah is still alive. This pack has rules that cannot be broken..."

"But you are the Alpha. You can do whatever you want..."

Rowan didn't let Suzan continue her sentence. He grabbed her lips and sucked on them like a wild animal enjoying its prey.

"Even if you're not Luna, I'll still be with you. Only you can satisfy me, Suzan..."

"Alpha, um..."

I turned slowly and left them alone. For four years, I gave everything to Rowan. I buried my dreams for him. Even when the members mocked me behind my back because I couldn't bear children, I remained silent and obedient to him. But now I can't be like that anymore. I don't want to be obedient after this disgusting betrayal.

"He fucked an Omega! I'm not even worth as much as that lowly maid!"

I decided to change my destiny. I didn't want to endure this suffering anymore.

Rowan returned to our room after his encounter with Suzan. He acted as if nothing had happened. He took off the shirt and handed it to me.

Normally, I would have picked it up immediately, but this time I chose to ignore it.

"Why are you just silent?" he asked coldly.

I breathe deeply. "Just pick it up yourself."

"What’d you just say? You're my wife. You're supposed to serve me! Do you want to just relax and do nothing?"

His eyes were red like I had committed some terrible mistake.

"Why don't you just call Suzan? She is the maid in this house, not me."

"Are you crazy? What time is it now? The maids are already asleep. I don't want to disturb them. I'm not going to drag the workers out of bed for a damn shirt, Savannah!"

Without realizing it, he threw his shirt at me, hitting me in the face. My stomach churned at the thought of his dirty deeds with Suzan, but he didn't care at all.

I was forced to pick up the shirt and put it in the corner of the room. I then lay down on the bed, and Rowan was still sitting.

"Have you had your condition checked? The Elders are talking about the heir again." This time Rowan brought up the same topic again.

At first, I wanted to tell Rowan about my pregnancy right away, but now I decided to keep it to myself. I didn't want Rowan to know. He didn't deserve to be the father of my child.

"Hmm, yeah I have," I replied.

"How is it?"

"You already know the answer, Rowan."

Suddenly, he slammed his fist to the bed. His gaze was sharp towards me.

"When are you going to stop being such a disappointment, Savannah? It's been four years and you still can't fulfill your responsibilities as my wife. This pack needs an heir and you are giving nothing!"

"I am trying, Rowan!"

He approached me, without warning, he grabbed my chin roughly, causing me tremendous pain.

"You're trying, then you should have been pregnant a long time ago! See, your womb is completely useless. You became Luna because I still keep you. Otherwise, you would have ended up on the streets! No one would want to marry a barren woman like you!"

"Ahhh!"I screamed.

My patience had its limits. All this time I had kept quiet because I thought Rowan would change, but instead he slept with the maid in our house.

"Go to hell, Savannah!"

Rowan's anger peaked, his hand ready to hit me, but he stopped himself. He walked out of the room, cursing me. And like the nights before, he didn't come back. I had thought he was busy with his work before, but now I knew he was visiting that bitch maid.

I gathered my stuff and put it all in a small bag. I decided to leave the pack. Before that, I pulled out my phone to call someone.

"Hello, Leah."

"Hmm, Savannah. It's you. It's been almost four years since you last contacted me.”

"Yeah... I need your help."

"Help? What for?"

"I want to get out of here. Can you pick me up?"

I knew I had made a big mistake. My family never approved when I married Rowan, even though he was an Alpha. They knew Rowan only loved someone else, but at the time I was too happy with Rowan's proposal, the man I had liked for a long time. And now they were right.

“Sure. I’d be happy to pick you up. When should I come?”

“Today,” I said. “I can’t stand in this marriage a second longer.”
