LOGINLucas’ POV If only Adrian would be gracious enough to pick his damn call. The day was already half gone but I was too scared to request to see Rayvn and the kids. I'd thought Adrian would have a change of mind and come or something, but thirty minutes of pacing restlessly proved he wasn't. “Can I see the morgue now?” I asked the lady I met at the desk earlier. “I'm extremely sorry for your loss, Sir.” She started. “Can I have their names?” She asked. “Marcus Rayvn, and twin infants, they were unnamed to the best of my knowledge.” I explained to her. “And you say this happened yesterday?” She confirmed after minutes of endless scrolling? “That was when we got the call.” I answered. “We normally wouldn't disclose that information over the phone.” She narrowed her eyes. “Are you sure the call was from this hospital?” I requested. “Yes.” I replied. “Can I see the caller details?” She asked. “I wasn't the one who got the call. Wasn't me who checked her in.”
Adrian's POV “It's a new day indeed.” I said to myself, pulling up to the house. Maybe it was a dumb decision, seeing as many people had the right to be on my neck, literally. “Your mother is up.” One of my attendants spoke in my ear. “All the better, then.” That was meant to be sarcastic, but he didn't seem at ease. “What's up?” j looked at him, forcing him to look down at Damon's car keys which he'd taken from me. “She has a visitor.” He added. “I don't think Ma would mind my intrusion. Besides, I've got to shower me’self.” I patted his back. He was quiet, once again the young innocent boy I employed a couple of months ago. “On second thought, I shall love to see her before going up.” I watched as his face crumpled and relaxed He was hiding something, and it better be for my sake. “Wait here.” I said to him two doors away from Mama. I knocked once and let myself in. “What the fuck?!” I yelled. The sight wasn't unusual, the time of day was. Ever since
Emily's POV “If you guys can keep it low, I promise I won't interfere.” I said upon barging into Damon's office.. Luacas and Damon had each other headlocked, spinning like little kids. “Get out of here.” Lucas yelled, trying to protect me. “I'm bothered by the noise.” I stood at the door, arms akimbo, watching how blood spotted tiny dots on Damon’s cloth. “Leave!” He yelled again. Damon took advantage of the split second Lucas looked up at me to strike him on the head. I was incensed, but not mad enough to want to fight. One minute I was kissing my teeth at how stupid they both looked, fighting in an office on Damon's first day back after an unannounced leave, and the next I was knocked to a corner by a blow to my head. “See what you've done!” Lucas angrily pushed Damon to the window, and was about to throw him down the entire thirteen stories of Nevada when I rushed to him. “Lucas please go to the hospital.” I begged him as he let himself be torn off Damon by me
Damon's POV “Just go on with what you have to say.” Lucas snapped. “You don't tell me what to do!” I yelled at the top of my voice. All three of them didn't even break a sweat “Your most diligent employees are on their way to work. I'm sure you must have something planned for them.” Adrian spoke. “First on my list,” I started finally, still recovering from my outburst, “How has security been? Any threats from the borders?” I asked Lucas. “None. My guys have been less busy for a while now. I was almost thinking of downsizing capacity. It seems we do not have as much threat to require such a large army.” Lucas replied. “That sounds good. I hope you are still engaging with all your intel's though. Remember these bastards live to strike when we're the most vulnerable. It's a pleasant surprise that nothing happened when I was gone.” I tapped my fingers on the table, thinking. “Maybe that's because you had the good sense not to make my absence public.” I said, thanking him
Damon's POV “I never saw that coming.” I held my head as my nerves shot up. Adrian's problem had never been my problem, not since when we were kids. But I can't deny feeling an extreme sense of duty to him, especially as he saved me from death's lair. “I'm gonna need details.” I said. “If you're asking for a reason. I don't have any. I just did it. That bitch has had too much control over my life for a very long time. I got tired of it. I badly wanted a test, but the idea of having my first heir mothered by her didn't sit well with me.” I confessed. “When she needed you the most.” I soliloquised. “Come on. If you heard both sides, you'd feel for me too. She's the reason I lost Emily.” He said. “That's just foolish talk right now.” I brushed it off. “If she wanted to be kept, she would've. I was married to the woman.” “Back to the case at hand…” Adrian drew me out. “What exactly are you scared of about Lilian? From where I stand, she's a bastard.” I flipped.
Adrian's POV “I'm not gonna be at ease till you tell me what you're up to, you know?” Damon said. I'd driven in silence for the last twenty minutes, and I was loving it. “Where do we go?” I asked him instead. “You don't need me captive?” He asked. “Whatever would I be doing with a grown ass man like you?” I asked, disgusted. “Did anyone never keep you in suspense?” I asked surprised. “Suspense is never cool with you. What's up?” He pressed further. “Man, I can't run this shit alone. Emily and Lucas have their own shit going on, and I'm all alone out there.” I said “Isn't that what you've always wanted?” Damon chuckled. “Not like this man. I have a rogue brother.” I burst out. “You've gotta be joking.” Damon said wide eyed. “I wish I was. I got informed of him a couple of days ago. The family lawyer. Apparently, he was supposed to stay hidden for a couple of years after my father passed, that was to ensure my mother didn't send the miserable young thing
Emily’s POV “Hey gorgeous.” The caller on the other side chirped. It was 7 am, Saturday morning, too dang early for prank calls. “I think you have the wrong number.” I said, trying to dislodge whoever it was before the sleep fled from my eyes. “Hey, Emily.” He said instead. “It's Adrian.”
Emily's POV “He'll be down in a minute.” Zac said to me. It's the first time we're seeing each other since the meeting at my office. I tried to stare at him for longer, actually look at him, but his eyes were shifty, and he didn't look like he had so much interest in me. I was a bit wounde
Freda’s POV On my way to my hijacked date, I tried convincing myself a million times to turn back, but the closer the uber guy got, to Central Station, the harder it was for me to be rational. Not at the thought of seeing that fine shyte again, no. I couldn't think straight. “Are you sure you'
Zyna’s POVMy change in status from farmgirl to Luna, was something that I couldn't afford to revert. While Damon and I were not on good terms, actually, things have been that way for well over half a decade. The most peaceful parts of our lives were the parts where we were just getting to know e
