Damon's POV

“You know, Emily, in medieval times, a couple had to consummate their marriage in front of all the wedding guests, just to make sure no one backs out after the wedding.” I said.

“Yeah, but there's no wedding and no guests here, just me trying to put something on.” She replied.

“I know that.” I said. Looking away, not because her cheeks were terribly red with embarrassment, but also because I wanted to give myself some sense of suspense.

“Damon, please just go back and wait for me on the bed.” She chuckled nervously.

I heeded this time, for both our sakes.

“Was that so hard?” She asked sarcastically as she re-entered

If anyone had told me that this was all I needed to do to turn things around with Emily, I'd have done it right after the wedding.

For two months, I'd lived in a hell I created for myself.

I literally never pictured her smiling so freely and being unrestrainedly happy in my presence.

“You look so beautiful with that smile on your face.” I

Lucas’ POV “It's been over three hours.” I shook Emily up. “What's the time?” She asked sleepily. “It's eleven am.” I answered. It was a good idea to sleep the drugs out of my system, what she didn't know is that I can't sleep out the amount I'd dosed on. While she shuffled between conscious and half-consciousness, I doused my head in water a couple of times, till I felt a little bit alive. “Up now?” I rubbed my hands softly down her arm. “Yeah, yeah.” She sniffed. “I need clothes though.” “There's a couple of gowns in that drawer. I ordered them for something else, but we'd work with this.” “I'm curious.” Emily drawled. “You're too sleepy to be.” I joked and carried her up. “Let's do this, baby.” “Ooh. Pet names now?” She asked. “You've always been my pet. Just a stubborn one.” I smiledIt took about twenty minutes to get her to wake up, at least enough to take a shower and dress up. By the time we got done and ready, it was almost one pm. Emily refuse

Emily's POV I stayed still till I was sure that I had no company anymore. Matter of fact, I watched by my window as Vera and her hooded man made it out. Another thing I took note of was that the security guy was quite familiar with him. It was one of two things. Either he worked in Nevada, or our security had began eating from two plates. Five a.m. struck, and I watched the digital alarm in my office that goes off at the top of the hour ring. I had no sleep, and my eyes felt heavy and hooded, more as I had to strain my eyes in the dark. I didn't know if Vera was the only company I had. I needed to be cautious. Giving it one more hour, I shot up from where I'd been hiding. My limbs felt sore, and crankled with every step I took. Finally, I was out. The security guy I met had left, change of shifts I guess. It didn't mean that I did not have a hard time greeting the new guy who was actually one of my faves. Matter of fact, I'd given him a few stuffs, maybe not so few, cause

Emily's POV I hadn't seen Adrian too in a while. Not after that night that went badly. It was unkike him to not reach out. I was starting to think he'd reconsidered and decided to have a family with Lillian instead. Maybe the three-to-one was too much for him. Hell, I wasn't complaining. Who's he to feel bad about it? After about thirty minutes of intense lip pursing, leg shaking, and occasional sighs, I worked up the courage to call him. His number had sunk so deep in my call history. To call or to text? I had a hard time making my mind up. I finally gave in. He would have his reasons. It definitely would take more than that to chase Adrian off, that I was sure of. I rounded up my work on time and left the office about two hours earlier. Damon was absent, so no one else could keep me waiting. “Bye guys.” I chirped at the last set of people on my way out. The drive home was short, as usual, even though I stopped to get wings. Too lazy to cook or do anything for that m

Damon's POV “When last did you speak to Lucas?” Emily asked. That's the first thing she'd said to me in about a week now. “Been a minute. What's up?” I asked, trying not to let my excitement show. “It's been radio silence. Just wondering.” She said, trying not to look too bothered. “I'll place a call.” I offered dismissively. “Or is it his turn to warm your bed?” I asked. “Is that the only excuse that speaks to you. How about a concerned citizen thinking of another?” She asked sarcastically. “That's never been you. Don't lie to me. You want him so bad everyday he's stayed away from you dug the hole deeper within you. I wish I had his strength sometimes.” I sneered. “You know what? You're right. For every minute that I don't feel his touch, my skin hates it, it crawls. And crawls even more when someone else tries to fill his place.” She sucked her teeth lightly and left. “This bitch is just trying to get a reaction.” I told myself. “And I'm not gonna give her.”

Lucas’ POV “I know you better than you think I do.” Rayvn broke the silence. Her voice sounded clearer, a little too clear for someone who'd cried so hard only a few minutes ago. “If I wasn't on the wheels right now, I'd be trying to get a better view of you.” I replied to her. “You don't have to. You've seen me enough.” She puffed and threw her glance out the window. “Maybe a little too much.” “Can we just erase all the bad parts that happened and try to keep our head fixed on the positives?” “That's easy for you to say. At least you don't have two pups planted in you without your permission.” She huffed. “We both wanted that night to happen.” I said. No matter how mad Rayvn was, I'm never gonna let her rewrite history. “Not how it went, no.” She said quietly. “You've fancied me for a long time, Rayvn. What is making this too difficult for you?” I asked sincerely. “I had a female friend I could trust. I haven't had one of those in years. And you took that

Lucas’ POV The nightmares were getting worse. And Jo, it wasn't the sounds the villagers said they heard at the edge of town. It was me, all me. Since Rayvn tore at me, spitting all sorts, I couldn't help but wonder what next to do. Things weren't turning out how I planned. And that's sad cause I had even more enemies now.Pissed and irritated by a sweat laden pillow, I kicked it off the bed and took my next victim for the night. The digital bedside clock read “01:56”.I felt an urge to talk but there was no one to talk to. I wanted to call Emily. I mean, she came to my mind immediately. But what was I gonna tell her? It's been days since we saw each other. I hadn't text or called. It wasn't like me to chase sheepishly after a woman. All my life, it'd been the other way round. I resent Moon Goddess for giving her such power, but there was little I could do about it. The insane attraction I felt to her doubled every single time we were in the same space, my belly tingled, my t
