Chapter Sixteen

As the tension in the air grew, both Dane and Dash’s bodies began to convulse and contort, muscles bulging and bones cracking. Their skin rippled and fur sprouted from every pore, covering them from head to toe in a thick coat of bristly hair. Their noses became snouts and their teeth sharpened into razor blade-like fangs. With a final guttural snarl, they stood before each other, ready for battle.

The small shack was barely able to contain Dane and Dash’s massive frames that stood facing each other. Their eyes glowed with intense, ferocious energy as they began circling one another, their muscles rippling with anticipation.

Kendra tried to pull me from the tiny building, but I refused. I had to make sure Dane was okay. I wasn’t sure what a small human could do in a battle between two large werewolves, but I was determined to be there to help if Dash decided to fight unfairly. He was a rogue and they couldn’t be trusted. I mean, he never could in the first place.
