“How is that even possible?”
She shrugs her shoulders “How am I supposed to know?” There was a hint of annoyance in her words
“Taylor I didn’t mean it like that. I’m just, well I’m shocked that’s all” I turn to look at Daryl “Did this happen to you, when you became wolfless?”
He shakes his head and frowns, rubbing his chin
“Is this why Jax wanted someone with amber eyes. He wanted to see if he could take away our abilities?”
Again he shrugs his shoulders as Taylor takes a vial of blood from Rudy's hand, his bllod oozing out of his hand when she removes the needle and he doesn't heal
“What do you need that for?”
“I’m going to test it Auntie, if he has no mark, he may no longer be a hybrid”

The scream was loud and echoed across the grounds waking up the pack and as the lights of nearby houses flickered on, the dim light revealing the face half hidden by a green hood. It had been almost a year since I lost my mate, my best friend, my true love. I wish I had been told how much pain losing a mate would cause and how long it would last because the truth is, it never goes away and you can only learn to accept it along with being alone. Truth is, I didn’t want the pain to ever go away because to me it signalled that I wasn’t ready to move on and nor do intend too. As I sit watching the twins crawl around, I smile and hoped they would never feel the same pain that I do but at the same time I was grateful to have them here, a boy and a girl because they kept me fighting another day. The boy I had named after Daryl, Daryl Junior or as I had been calling him DJ, two minutes older than his sister, he was the spitting image of his father, right down to his eyes. They were not the traditional amber colour of a Royal but bright blue and they gave me hope that he would have a better life than being the leader of the Royals when my time was up.

I felt fine, I look over myself, nothing looked out of place. “YOU CAN’T”His green eyes glare at me, but he doesn’t try anything else. His hands smooth out the sheets on the bed before he sits in the chair. A complete change of behaviour comes as he tells me he will keep me company until Daryl returns. He sits with his hands on his lap, not really paying me much attention and closes his eyes, tipping his head back.I watch him as he falls asleep and creep towards him. I could kill him, again.
