Avery Elise’s P. O. V.

I started walking towards there, but even before I could reach the door, Duke’s bodyguards stood in front of me, stopping me from entering the room.

I started feeling the fear inside me while looking at their g*ns. Though they weren’t pointing it to me, I feel like they can point it to me anytime, especially if I would insist on entering that room.

But I can’t just stand here and do nothing. What if something already happened to Duke? He’s my husband and I shouldn’t be just waiting here!

“Let me in,” I coldly said while thinking negatively about my husband’s health.

I know that the Myers Mafia had always been known for their power and strength, but they have their limits, too.

Despite my cold voice, they didn’t sway or even flinch upon hearing me. How did I forget? Mafia is already known for its hard attitude.

“I said let me in!” I hissed at them, but they wouldn’t really move to let me go through. “Are you deaf?!”

I’m already about to cry in worry for my husb
