5. My Luna is Here

Megan's feet kept paddling with Ann until she reached the last village. They stop after Anna says that their route will be steep and difficult to travel by bike. Therefore, the two left their bikes to one of the traders who is still Rudo's business partner.

Before Megan and Ann left the merchant's house. Both were given headgear on the forehead which is said to be a shield from attacks by wild animals. Although Megan doesn't really believe it, she still wears it as respect and gratitude.

"The sun is about to set... and in front of it was just a wilderness," Ann said looking at Megan who seemed to exhale her eyes while taking a deep breath.

Megan wears a bag behind her back, just like Ann. Bags made of knitted fabric contain robes that prevent the cold of the night or at times of rain, food and drinks and matches to warm the body after picking up twigs and flashlights that have limited batteries.

Megan and Ann stand at the end of a bridge made of wood. A small river that became the last sign of the region.

"Let's go get Rudo," Megan said holding Ann's hand walking over the bridge. She knew that the two did not know what they were going to face, but she also realized that there was no point in asking for help.

Germany just lost to an ally. The security forces are preoccupied with the revolution that is about to take place and right now Megan has to help Ann find Rudo.

Megan tries to instill in her mind that her journey this time is a slightly tougher and challenging adventure than the scouting activities she used to do with Thomas's best friend who is a soldier. Megan tries to instill in her mind that her journey this time is a slightly tougher and challenging adventure than the scouting activities she used to do with Thomas's best friend who is a soldier.

This isn't Megan's first time exploring the wilderness, but at the time she relied heavily on Thomas and some of the equipment that was certainly sophisticated. A GPS so she could be found looking for a wooden twig for a campfire, a walkie-talkie to communicate with each other when Thomas's best friend caught a fish in the river and an analog camera to capture the moment.

But Megan is aware that none of that can be done at this time. She even just hopes that the afternoon will not change with the night soon.

"How far have we been?" Megan asked, glancing at Ann who read the manual map. If she were in 2010 now, then she would no doubt open Google Maps, but again the situation is different.

Ann stopped stepping, made Megan do the same. "I think we're already here," she said pointing to one part of the map and showing it to Megan. She can read maps, because Rudo often teaches her and practices them together when Rudo takes her to trades elsewhere.

The road is getting rougher and full of rocks and as the evening begins to ingest, Anna advises Megan to stop and rest.

"We just have to keep going down the road and not get into the woods," Ann said sitting on a rock.

Ann's road is a narrow elongated area with no trees. Usually there will be horse-drawn carriages carrying goods or other traders who walk and cycle.

Megan nodded quietly and began collecting small wood and twigs to burn the campfire. She turned off the flashlight to save her battery. "Full moon," Megan murmured, gratefully with the moonlight accompanied by a twinkling star.

If Megan's eyes look at the awe of the sky as if it were bright, then Ann instead shows the look of fear mixed with sadness.

"A full moon is a time when wolves will come out to hunt," Ann says staring at the moon that looks so close to earth.

"Don't worry. We're going to find Rudo," Megan said holding Ann's hand. "I used to be so confused and scared when I lost communication with my father who went to the battlefield against the rebels. It... had to prepare the heart for his loss, but he came back with a big smile." Megan's words made Ann smile and try to be strong.

"Do you miss home and your dad?" Ann asked, staring closely at Megan.

"Always."

After an hour's rest, the two decided to continue their journey in robes to ward off the influx of night breezes that would pierce their skin with a sharp cold.

The steep road makes the side of the cliff, while the other side of the trees try to cover the gap that can destroy Megan and Ann if they miss a step.

But when it comes to a plateau, at the end of the trail there is a large wolf that is clearly visible in the eyes of Megan and Ann, due to the help of moonlight. The two women were fixated on seeing a large wolf that Ann had never even seen that size. Megan, meanwhile, remembers the same shape of the wolf when she visited the Jazmore forest.

◇◇◇

In another place a man stood firmly and shirtless. Its hard jaws, overgrown with several sideburns that are slowed down, as well as the chest and back overgrown with some feathers, although is not dense. The ears are slightly pointed with sharp eyes reddened when staring at the full moon. When the male grins, his fangs look so sharp as his paws. Even though the clawed fingernails are no longer than his fingers. A common change for a Werewolf, when a full moon occurs.

"Sir, they're near Movaro," Perol said, saluting Eden standing at the edge of a towering cliff.

Eden flashed a thin smile. "They're good enough not to get lost." He turned his back on the Beta who did come with him to see the guest from Yagur.

"So what will be done next?" asked Perol who was also shirtless waiting for orders. "Ozo... he wandered around the two women."

Eden turned around with a frown barely noticeable with her bushy eyebrows. "Ozo?" He called for the name of his great guard wolf. A dire wolf can only be owned by an Alpha, while the other Werewolf is just a common wolf.

"Let's take a closer look," Eden says with a nimble movement that is almost impossible for the human eye to see. Werewolves are famous for their speed, especially their jumping skills here and there, even though it's a towering tall tree. Just like Eden and Perol are doing right now.

Eden's eyes, which could see clearly in the darkness like other Werewolves, were now standing on a large tree trunk bowing. Looking at the two women who look confused, as well as frightened when Ozo the Dire wolf gets closer to both.

But Eden's eyes then focused on one of the women who made her sense of smell increase dramatically. Somehow he can inhale the aroma of sandalwood mixed with jasmine that he has never met when meeting with humans.

"Sir," Perol's vibrating voice then forces Eden to turn around.

"What's wrong?" asked Eden flatly.

Not a voice or sentence answer. Perol's finger pointed at the Alpha's forehead. "Golden sign!" he exclaimed excitedly.

Eden was stunned for a while. He then turns to stare at the two women who are now trying to repel Ozo with a stoning. He also remembered that the golden ray marks on the middle forehead of a werewolf will be visible when near his Mate. But he could not be sure of the two women, because it was covered by a piece of cloth or perhaps the Luna--the partner of an Alpha was another woman who was also around him.

Eden's eyes squinted as one of the women recalled him visiting the Jazmore forest with Ozo a few weeks ago. It was raining and a hooded woman approached a well, where Ozo often played there.

"It turned out to be her," Eden murmured,  making Perol who now scrunches his forehead.

"My Lord?"

In one long whistling, Eden managed to get Ozo to retreat and leave the two women behind. But Megan's memory is sharp, recalling a whistling she had also heard in the Jazmore forest. She then looked up, but because the tree was too dense and towering, his eyesight was not clear.

Megan, who saw the big wolf figure gone, took the initiative to pull Ann's hand and run on their way.

Unknowingly, a pair of red eyes kept an eye on Megan's every move. Where the woman could hear as if the breeze was breaking through twigs and foliage, instead of thinking that it was someone who jumped in there without fear of falling.

Reach Megan and Anna at the top of the cliff, they then look down from behind the cliff. A light of fire blazing from the torches that were lit. A sign of a residential life that Ann knew wasn't in the area. But to get off, the two crossed a steep road again.

Both Megan and Ann turned to each other and with the determination and courage to help Rudo, the two stepped forward again.

Eden holds his breath for a moment as Megan's back is increasingly lost in the woman's move to descend into the Movaro area. His eyes then glanced towards the moon, a clearly red flash visible with a golden ray on his forehead began to dim. A sign that The Luna began to walk away from him, and he could not carelessly enter the Movaro area, due to his scent that could be sniffed by the pack herd from Yagur.
