Alessia’s POV

“What did you even see in him to accept the mate bond?” my mouth dropped open as I stared at Ezekiel.

He knows. He gave me a nod, as if reading the question in my eyes.

“Isn’t he your best friend?” I raised my eyebrows at him.

“That’s besides the point. Let’s focus on your choice” he murmured.

“He was my mate and we had already developed a relationship. That is why I accepted him” I looked at him in the eyes as I stared at him.

“I see” he stared at me with his deep eyes.

We snapped out of the daze when the waitress walked in

“Ma’am here is your fried prawns” I was stunned as she placed the prawns on my plate.

“You remember” I turned to look at Ezekiel.

All he did was smirk at me. My lips twitched slightly as I felt my heart melt at his action. All I remember during my childhood was both of us fighting. I never pegged him to be the kind to remember such details specially when we were not even that close.
