Alessia’s POV

“What happened?” was the first thing I asked as we reached the area. Apparently, it was an attack by the rogues on our pack children’s. I watched the mother wailing as she held her child.

“Sara was playing with her friend. I think the rogues lured the children near the far end of the woods” one of the guards replied.

“Who was on patrolling duty?” my voice was too calm. I was so angry right now.

“It was us” Few guards came forward.

My eyes narrowed into slits “Why did the rogues enter the pack grounds undetected?”

They looked uneasy under my scrutiny.

“I asked you guys something” I snapped. They moved back with fear.

“It was the shift timing. We had reached the spot when this happened” one of them was brave enough to reply.

“Where are the others guards who were on duty before you?” Ezekiel inquired.

“They had left even before we reached” the other one replied.

“I see” I clicked my tongue.

“Call them here right now” I was this close to losing my calm and punish them.
