HUNTER
I found my father walking among the ruins of the burnt down houses. Almost all of the rubble had been cleared and new foundations were steadily being resurrected.
“Where have you been, Hunter? Your mother has been going out of her mind with worry.” He didn’t spare me a glance, his attention focused on the activities on the grounds.
“I took Sylvia and Nina to a safe place. Mother needn’t worry.” Like he could care. “Have you heard anything about the mercenaries and who hired them?”
“No, still nothing. I’ve contacted most of the Alphas of the surrounding areas, none of them know anything. Or so they say.”

HUNTERThe last thing I remember before everything went to shit is that Joffrey was hurt. I forced myself to consciousness. The truck turned upside down and I must have been thrown out. Picking myself up out of the dirt I looked for him. Dawn was breaking in the east – we no longer had the cover of night to hide.Joffrey was still inside the overturned truck. SYLVIA Darkness surrounded me in the boot of the car. I tried not to panic, breathing slowly, feeling around in the darkness for something, anything to keep me grounded.
