Chapter twenty two: daddy's home

"Daddy!"

"My flame princess! You've gotten so big!"

Verena squealed in excitement and ran towards her father. She jumped into his arms, hugging him excitedly. He twirled her in the air laughing like a lucky man.

"I've missed you!" She said with a pout. "You said you'd come visit, but I you didn't!"

He smiled warmly at her. "I'm here now, aren't I?"

Verena giggled. "Of course! Come in, you must have had a long trip!"

Kai watched the exchange between Verena and her father, and it felt like he was looking at another Verena.

Asher Conan was the alpha of Crest Pack, and Verena's father. He was tall and had a dignified aura to him. His gray hair was cut short, his golden eyes glowed with youthful life.

Asher turned to Kai. "The young alpha," He said warmly. "I see you're doing well."
