He had a determined look on his face as he took one step after the other."Kai you're not rested enough yet."Karen tried to talk some sense into him, any sense at all."My pack is under attack" Kai said. "I can't be in bed and watch them get hurt.""You could get hurt. Seriously. You have a gaping wound in your chest!""I'm fine." He growled. David got out if bed and ran to Karen's side hugging her legs tightly. "Kai I can fight!" "I'm not saying you can't," Kai wore a shirt and turned to her. She sobbed, the shirt was already soaking with blood. "Look at me, please " She raised her head and met his eyes. "You are my entire world now." He said. "I know you're strong, Karen. You are an alpha yourself, no matter how many times they try to convince you otherwise." "Let me fight...please. I don't want anything to happen to you!" "Nothing will happen to me okay. But if anything happens to you or David or our unborn child, I could never live with myself." Karne bit her lip to try and control her sobs. "Kai..." "Nicolas will be here with you," Kai turned to Nicolas. "Please," Nicolas nodded. "We have to move though, we can't stay here. I'll take you and Verena and we can leave."
Karen was lost in her thought as she watered a garden which was more than four hectares of land. She was too exhausted from having worked all day that her hands were shaking from holding the water can. Life had always been this miserable for her right from childhood, and her father, the Alpha of their pack had seen to it that she spent every day of her life in misery. She was told that her mother had died while given birth to her and that was perhaps the reason the Alpha King hated her.... She had always wished she had died at birth than being faced with misery from the hatred her father harbor for her. "Princess, Princess" Karen jolted away from her thought as she heard the soft voice called, she knew who it was and then scoffed at the name she was called as she ruminated over the name. She was a princess and yet worked more than a slave, even the maids and other subjects were more worthy of sight than she was. "How many times would I tell you to call me by my name" Karen fake
"Because I have a fiance!" He stated and then walked away codly. Karen stared rightly after his shadow till it was no longer in view, then she broke down crying, without caring for the fact that she was going to ruin her make up and that wasn't going to please her father. "Pr.. Princess !" Rahinna called, she was worried for her. "I want to be left alone!" Karen muttered with tears flowing from her face, she was used to crying alone without no one to comfort her.As Rahinna left her, she broke down crying her heart out, she damned the consequences of being caught by her father and let herself cried out. She was heartbroken, shattered beyond measure and the worst of all was that there was no one to comfort her. Why is she this ill fated? She had bear to live with the hatred her father had for her hoping that one day she'd have a mate who would love her, How she had counted her eggs and was waiting for them to hatch, but a second rejection by her mate? She suddenly heard an a
"You're not my Mate, but my worst enemy!" He shouted, his angry voice booming all over the room as it shooked her and send cold shivers running down her spine, if she had always described her father voice as being too strict, his way more than her father's.Even with his cold voice, she still managed to courageously looked at his voice, his face was looking at her with hatred written all over him like she was some sort of natural disaster or forbidden disease. The hatred she had always seen in her father's eyes was nothing compared to how scary his eyes looked. Karen was dumbfounded, she wonderered what was it that she had done that had made him hated her that much. "W-why am I your enemy? " She found herself asking out of the blues, her body was still shaking with fear, and she wondered where she had the courage to speak up. A pause as the room suddenly went quiet, Karen was curious to know how she ended up as his worst enemy when she hadn't by chance met him or offended him
Chapter four: the sins of the father****Karen screamed, throwing the bloody box in her hands away. The sight of her father's severed head played over and over in her mind's eyes, his pale lifeless skin, his bulging eyes threatening to explode out of his head, the expression of pure horror and anguish on his face. The box fell to the ground and her father's head rolled out, his lifeless eyes staring at her.Karen's knees felt weak and she collapsed to the cold hard ground, her trembling bloodstained hands coming up to her mouth, small pained gasps escaping her lips. Tears clouded her vision as she stared at what was left of her father. Not once in his life did her ever show her that he loved her, not once had she ever imagined the last time she saw him to be like this. "Are you scared?" Kai's voice reached her ears, mocking and cold. He came and stood in front of Karen, crouching down to her eye level. Karen raised her head and met his cold eyes, eyes that held no atom of emotion."Y
Chapter five: let me goKai paced the floors of his room, running his hands through his hair. The feeling of restlessness in his body was further amplified by his wolf silently judging him. As much as he wanted to ignore it, the mate bond was sparking a fiery pain in his chest for hurting his mate."You don't get to judge me!" He roared. His wolf kept quiet, not saying anything. But he could feel the silent judgment it shot at him.Kai refuses to believe that that girl wasn't like her father. She looked exactly like the man. She has his blood in her veins. The apple didn't always fall far from the tree.Yet he couldn't deny the stinging pain in his chest. He never believed in the mating bond or fated mates. He never wanted one in the first place, much less now his fated mate was the daughter of his mortal enemy.Kai paced the floors restlessly, his heart thumping in his chest. It hadn't even been ten minutes he got back from the dungeon, and all he wanted to do was to go back and pul

He released her, rising to his feet as if he had touched something filthy. Karen rushed out of the bed and raced to the nearest corner, pressing herself into it as much as she could."What are you trying to do?!" Karen said, fear lacing her voice. "What is even wrong with you?! You hate me so damn much and you won't even break the mating bond between us! What exactly do you....""Strip." Karen suddenly heard the unexpected, the one word silencing her as she froze."W-what?" "A word of caution, I do not repeat myself."Karen stared at Kai. She scoffed, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. "Strip?!" She shouted. "Who do you think you are to order
