8- The Attack

Theodore Black had been ignoring me for the past two days. After confessing his concern for me, he refused to show me his face. I know he regretted confessing his concern for me when he stopped coming to sleep on his own to avoid me. Irritation spread in my veins when I found three new guards were stationed outside the room— she-wolves. All of them were female warriors.

“What is happening here? Why are you all standing here and guarding me?” I asked them, and one of them decided to answer me in the most formal tone she could muster.

“His Highness has ordered us to guard you because he doesn’t trust you with yourself. He said you’re more prone to accidents than anyone else in the mansion. We are just following the orders, Miss Knight.” Brunette answered and anger flashed in my eyes as I got up from the bed and glared at her.

“I appreciate your loyalty to His Highness, Miss…..” I stopped, realizing I didn’t know her name. Amusement swirled in her eyes but soon they turned emotionless
