Chapter 66

“Nicholas, what are you—”

“Michelle.” My name rolled out of him in a low dangerous growl, his eyes feral. "Do as I say."

That’s when I realized. This wasn’t Nicholas anymore.

It was his wolf.

I gulped, the hairs on the back of my neck rising. I needed to tread lightly; pissing off a feral wolf would not end well for anyone.

“Well now,” I began, forcing a casual tone. “It’s been a while, Mr. Wolf.”

A deep growl ripped from his throat, the vibration sinking straight into my bones.

“Not now, Mich

  • Alpha Mine   Chapter 107

The first match was over. Nathaniel had won, and Jared—may he rest in peace... or pieces—had been escorted off to the dogs. Whatever that meant... I wasn't exactly eager to find out.The second match hadn't even started, and I was already on the verge of passing out from exhaustion. Sure, I wasn't the one sprinting across a frozen wasteland, but watching my friends compete had my heart working overtime. From my place among the Lycan crowd, I watched Chanelle and William greet Nathaniel with loud cheers and hearty pats on the back as he made his way toward them. The whole time I watched them, something inside me simmered slowly. I just wasn't sure what.My attention shifted to the right when I caught Lucas approaching from the corner of my eye. The moment he stopped beside me, every muscle in my body tensed."Michelle."His voice was low and dangerous as he tilted his head down to look at me.I immediately averted my gaze, looking past him to Nicholas, who stood several feet away. His

The race was on.The instant Lucas gave the signal, both men exploded forward, kicking up clouds of snow as they sprinted across the frozen track. They stayed shoulder to shoulder, neither willing to give the other so much as an inch.I chewed on my nails, watching them tear through the thick snow. Every step sank deep into the icy ground, but nothing slowed them. If anything, the resistance only seemed to push them harder.Come on, Nathaniel. They matched each other stride for stride, neither man willing to give up the lead. They were both incredible runners; there was no denying that. But while Nathaniel looked like he could keep going all day, Jared's stride began to falter, his legs betraying the first signs of fatigue.Nathaniel noticed instantly.A smug grin spread across his face as he tilted his head toward Jared."That all you've got?"In the next heartbeat, he exploded forward, pulling ahead by several strides."Yes!" I shouted, cupping my hands around my mouth. "You've got

  • Alpha Mine   Chapter 105

The moment I stepped out of the Porsche and into the freezing morning air, I wanted nothing more than to climb back inside, slam the door shut, and pretend this tournament didn't exist. Honestly, the whole situation was infuriating. I was being offered up like some kind of tribute in exchange for my own freedom. Sorry, but this wasn't District 12, and this girl—kick-ass as she was—didn't have a humble bone in her body, let alone enough humility to volunteer herself away. A gust of icy wind swept through the trees as I shut the door behind me. I crossed my arms over my chest and shivered. The thought of freezing my ass off through this entire tournament had my mood swinging from mildly annoyed to one minor inconvenience away from committing mass murder. At this point, I wouldn't have minded going on a full-blown rampage and drop-kicking every Lycan in sight. Who knew? Maybe the Lycan King would decide I was completely insane and send me home on the spot. I sighed and followed Chanel

The word awkward didn't even begin to describe the mood inside the car as we drove along the icy road. My friends sat on either side of me while Lucas occupied the passenger seat up front. The silence was thick enough to choke on, each of us lost in our own thoughts. Well... almost everyone. Lucas looked perfectly at ease, lounging in his seat as though this situation were completely normal to him, while I was busy debating whether throwing myself out of the moving vehicle counted as a reasonable escape plan. Just as I was weighing my odds of survival, Lucas's gaze caught mine in the rearview mirror. I froze. The moment I looked into his golden eyes, I found myself caught in their pull. Molten swirls danced within his irises, almost alive, shifting with an intensity that sent a chill racing down my spine. Swallowing my nerves, I raised an eyebrow at him through the mirror. Lucas tilted his head slightly. "You know," he said, his gaze lingering on mine, "most people avoid looki

You'd think that stepping out of the gloomy prison palace I'd been stuck in for the last day or so would feel liberating. That I'd feel a twinge of joy at finally seeing the birds soaring overhead, gliding across the sky far freer than my miserable self could ever hope to be. But those feelings never stood a chance. Why? Because the moment I stepped outside the palace, I saw him. No, scratch that. I felt him. Sparks ignited across my traitorous chest as my wolf caught sight of the arrogant asshat known as Lucas Visconti. He was leaning casually against a Porsche, dressed in dark navy jeans, a black leather jacket, a black V-neck, and matching black shoes. The smug look plastered across his face made me want to march over there and wipe it clean off. "What are you doing here?" I asked, stopping a few feet away from him as irritation crawled up my chest. Zahori had stayed by the door, keeping watch from a distance. William and Chanelle stepped beside me, subtly positioning themselv

  • Alpha Mine   Chapter 102

After silently following Zahori through what I'd already started calling the grand palace, weaving through endless corridors and making several twists and turns, we finally came to a stop outside a large sitting room. Paintings of wolves lined the walls, while a massive flat-screen TV hung opposite a row of towering windows overlooking the world beyond. "Wait here," Zahori said as she headed toward a large set of doors. "I'm getting our rides ready." She paused, her gaze sweeping over the three of us. "And don't do anything stupid. The guards are right around the corner." With that, she pushed open the door and disappeared. We listened as it clicked shut behind her before slowly turning to one another. "So," William said, a devious smirk spreading across his face, "what should we do now?" Chanelle's forest-green eyes sparkled with mischief. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe we should call our Alpha." I blinked at her. "How?" William's grin widened. He slipped his hands into his jean

I knocked on Alec’s door and instantly regretted it when Taylor Evans, my brother’s girlfriend, opened it. Her light brown eyes landed on me with distaste as recognition settled into her features.Let’s just say we didn’t see eye to eye.“You could at least say hello to me,” I said when she remaine

I walked around the town until I spotted the pack’s laundromat. Inside, I found a familiar blonde standing in front of a washing machine, his eyes narrowing as he watched it spin. I walked inside the building and stood beside him.“Marcella, making you wash her panties again?” I asked, turning to f

  • Alpha Mine   Chapter 3

We had just arrived in Alaska, the state in which our territory was located, and I felt colder than a popsicle. Yes, I know wolves lived in the snow, but that didn’t mean our human form didn’t feel cold. Only our fur protected us from the cold.“You should have brought a jacket,” Alec said, breakin

  • Alpha Mine   Chapter 2

I hated being taken advantage of. Period. Guess what happened to Omegas in my pack? They were taken advantage of by high-ranking werewolves. Now, it wasn’t as bad as it sounds. Lucky for me, I had an older brother who was an Epsilon, also known as the highest rank below the main chain of comman
