เข้าสู่ระบบThe hierarchy has always rubbed me the wrong way. After years of putting up with the bullshit our Alpha imposed on lower ranked werewolves like myself, I decided to flee from my pack. But as luck would have it, exactly a month later, my brother showed up at my doorstep, a very unhappy brother who dragged my ass back to the place I had tried to so desperately escape. Now that I’m back, there’s talk of a powerful pack visiting—one led by none other than the infamous Alpha Nicholas Klain. They say he’s the strongest Alpha in the UK, and something about the way he looks at me tells me he’s trouble. I soon find out how much trouble he is when he decides to humiliate me. Big mistake. Nicholas Klain better watch out because he just messed with the wrong werewolf. Michelle Meyers might be an Omega but that doesn't mean she doesn't bite back. In case you were wondering, the name's Michelle Meyers, and this is the story of how I fell in love with a very arrogant werewolf.
ดูเพิ่มเติมThings were about to change, and I wasn’t ready for it.
For the past few minutes, someone had been relentlessly knocking on my door. I would have opened it if it weren’t for the fact that I knew the moment I did, the normality I had tried to create would cease to exist. In truth, it would be easier to slip back into sleep, where I could lounge beneath the Bahamian sun, a piña colada in hand, and not a single worry in sight. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that running away from your problems never works. And so, my current predicament. With a sigh of resignation, I got out of bed, put on my robe, and reluctantly headed toward the door to open it. As soon as the door was opened, a pair of ocean-blue eyes met mine. “Do you realize how worried I was about you?” Alec said with a mixture of relief and frustration. “Hello, dear brother, it’s also nice to see you,” I said, my gaze wavering slightly from the intensity of his stare. Alec narrowed his eyes, his brows furrowing as he stared intently at me. He looked upset, which was a strange sight because he didn’t seem like the kind of person who could hurt a fly. The girls in my pack often called him a pretty boy, with his dark raven hair, piercing blue eyes, and long lashes. They were traits clearly inherited from our mother. He could have easily stepped out of a Korean drama, and no one would have questioned it. On the other hand, I was average at best. I had inherited my father’s dark brown eyes and hair, along with my mother’s heart-shaped face and warm, tanned skin. My wish had always been to have beautiful blue eyes like our mother, but of course Alec had hogged all the good genes. Unfortunately, the only thing Alec and I had in common was a birthmark on the back of our wrists, a mark he always insisted I keep hidden. “Do you know the trouble I went through to find you?” Alec asked, his tone sharp. I pressed my lips together, knowing he was right to be angry. Deep down, I knew he didn’t mean to scold me. It was just his way of showing he was concerned. “I’m sorry, Alec, I just couldn’t stand that place anymore,” I said, clenching my fists at my sides as the memory of why I left came to mind. A month ago, I had fled my pack because of how harsh the environment could be. Felix, our Alpha, was a cruel son of a bitch who often painted a target on the weakest werewolves. As an Omega, I knew all too well what that meant. I was at the very bottom of the hierarchy, after all. “Michelle,” Alec started, his voice softer now as he took in my words. “I understand you, believe me, I do, but what you did could get you killed. I can’t protect you from Felix, no matter how much I want to. He’s...” Alec stopped, a bitter expression crossing his features, “our Alpha.” I dug my nails into my palm, attempting to maintain control of my emotions. He was right; what I had done was against pack law. My foolish self had thought I could run away. I thought I could finally break free from the oppression I had constantly lived under. However, if Alec could track me down, Felix could too. “Go and pack your things. We’re returning to the pack before it’s too late and someone tells him you’re gone,” Alec said, entering the apartment, walking past me and scanning the small space. “Alec, I hate that place,” I said, crossing my arms. “Maybe if you help me, I can escape for good.” Alec walked over to my couch and grabbed a small glass bear that decorated the coffee table. “No, it’s too risky,” he said, inspecting the bear. “I’ve been telling everyone you’re sick. It’s the only reason no one has informed Felix. But people are starting to get suspicious.” I sighed. Of course, it wouldn’t be that easy. Even though the pack was large, there were still prying eyes everywhere. “There’s no way out of this, is there?” I said, defeated. Alec shook his head. “I’m sorry, Michelle, there isn’t... but don’t worry, I will protect you from the rest of the pack as I’ve always done.” I smiled weakly at that. Alec had always protected me, even as kids. He shielded me from the Kappas, Iotas, Zetas, and Epsilons who were intent on making my life a living hell. Don’t get me wrong, I could hold my own with words, but once they realized they couldn’t outwit me, they’d resort to physical fights. Unfortunately for me, that was my weakness. And so, Alec would step in, beating the crap out of anyone who dared to lay a hand on me. But again, I was no pushover. I had a sharp tongue that could assassinate someone in their sleep. Many despised me for it, but I couldn’t help it. Speaking my mind has always been my way of fighting back. The only people I spared from my wits were Alec and a few close friends. Everyone else? They could suck it. “I’ll be waiting for you in the car,” Alec said, making his way to my door. I watched him leave, a heavy sigh escaping my lips. “Fine,” I muttered, turning toward my room to pack. It seemed that things were indeed about to change. I just hoped it was for the better. The word awkward didn't even begin to describe the mood inside the car as we drove along the icy road. My friends sat on either side of me while Lucas occupied the passenger seat up front. The silence was thick enough to choke on, each of us lost in our own thoughts. Well, almost everyone. Lucas looked perfectly at ease, lounging back in his seat as though this situation was completely normal to him, while I was busy debating whether throwing myself out of the moving vehicle counted as a reasonable escape plan. Just as I was considering my odds of survival, Lucas's gaze caught mine through the rearview mirror. I froze. As I stared into his golden eyes, I found myself caught in their pull. The molten swirls within his irises seemed almost alive, shifting and dancing with an intensity that sent a chill racing down my spine. Still, I swallowed back my nerves and raised an eyebrow at him through the mirror. Lucas tilted his head slightly. "You know," he said, his gaze lingerin
You'd think that stepping out of the gloomy prison palace I'd been stuck in for the last day or so would feel liberating. That I'd feel a twinge of joy at finally seeing the birds soaring overhead, gliding across the sky far freer than my miserable self could ever hope to be.But those feelings never stood a chance. Why? Because the moment I stepped outside the palace, I saw him.No, scratch that. I felt him.Sparks ignited across my traitorous chest as my wolf caught sight of the arrogant asshat known as Lucas Visconti. He was leaning casually against a Porsche, dressed in dark navy jeans, a black leather jacket, a black V-neck, and matching black shoes. The smug look plastered across his face made me want to march over there and wipe it clean off."What are you doing here?" I asked, stopping a few feet away from him as irritation crawled up my chest.Zahori had stayed by the door, keeping watch from a distance. William and Chanelle stepped beside me, subtly positioning themselves be
After silently following Zahori through what I'd already started calling the grand palace, and making several twists and turns, we finally came to a stop in a large room. Paintings of wolves lined the walls, and a massive flat-screen TV hung opposite a row of towering windows looking out onto the world beyond."Wait here," Zahori said, heading toward a large door. "I'm getting our rides ready."She paused, her gaze sweeping over the three of us."And don't do anything stupid. The guards are right around the corner."With that, she pushed open the door and disappeared. We watched the door click shut behind her, then slowly turned to face one another."So," William began, a devious smirk spreading across his face, "what should we do now?"Chanelle's forest-green eyes twinkled with mischief as she looked at him."Oh, I don't know. Maybe we should speak to our Alpha."I glanced between them, my heart skipping a beat."How?"William's eyes slid to mine, and he shoved his hands into his jea
The next day, a familiar pair of brown eyes were the first thing I saw when I woke up. I hadn’t even realized I’d fallen asleep or how long I had been out for, though Zahori’s irritated expression made it clear I had probably overdone it.Slowly, I pushed myself upright and rubbed at my eyes as sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room.“Good. You’re finally awake,” she said impatiently. She approached the bed and tossed a dress onto the mattress near my legs. I raised an eyebrow at it before shifting my gaze back to her.“You’ll be wearing this for the tournament today.”I blinked slowly. “Sorry, you must have mistaken me for a Barbie doll.”Zahori crossed her arms. “Don’t make this harder than it needs to be. I don’t particularly enjoy this situation either.”She turned and pointed toward the bathroom door.“Take a shower and get dressed. I’ll do your makeup and hair afterward.”I opened my mouth, then closed it again. I had a feeling the only thing
I awoke to find a man with silver eyes watching me from above. I jolted upright, nearly colliding with him as he leaned over me. "Crap! What the hell, man? You almost gave me a heart attack!" I pressed a hand to my chest, trying to calm my racing heart. "Good to see you again," the man said softl
Nicholas POV A moment ago I felt as though the world went still, as though for a fraction of a second I did not exist, and strangely enough, I felt this sensation before. When Sofia first appeared at the Shadow Moon gates a month ago. Or had it been longer? Hell, everything before her felt hazy,
Breakfast was over, and I had just finished stacking the last set of clean plates on the counter when Sofia patted me on the shoulder."I saw one of them." She whispered."Who?" I asked curiously."Nicholas Klain," she leaned in, ready to give me the scoop, "Looks like he's hiding in the back of th
The next morning rolled around, and I woke up to a call requesting my help in the dining room. It was the main area where pack members came together to eat.“So, you and Taylor went at it?” Sofia, a close friend of mine, was saying as she casually leaned against the back door of the break room.
