After I showed Chase around and introduced him as my mate, it was a sight to witness how their eyes went wide and they immediately bowed at him. Chase was shocked and embarrassed to say the least.

As expected, my brothers choked him with their idiotic questions untill I had to pull him away from them. Layla was the sweetest, she welcomed him with open arms and the look of peace on Chase's face while hugging her was one I'd forever remember.

He offered to help Layla, Zara and the other cooks to prepare lunch while I worked. As much as I was loving him being comfortable around the pack, I didn't want him to keep working even here. But his eyes were excited to work at the huge kitchen of the pack house, and I couldn't say no to them.

Which brought us here, me going through each pile of paper stacked on the table and signing on treaty requests.

"Something's off."

Asia's voice alerted me. She was pacing back and forth, her nervousness making me uneasy.
