Tom and Heather were locked up in a secret room at the presidential quarters. Heather was made to watch her husband lay on a bed, stripped and used as a guinea pig for their experiments.
She was so weak from screaming and worrying whenever the mean soldiers came in with the lab scientist in charge of his experiments to take parts of him for their test jobs. She was also strapped to the wall like an animal. Tom was strong so he was able to endure his pain and still look out for his wife.
“I’m sorry, baby.” he managed to bloat out in a small voice and tears circling his eyes.
Heather raised her head slowly to gaze at him from her end.
He continued since he had gotten her attention. “I’m sorry to have gotten you involved in my ordeal.”

Tom did not think that it was a good idea for Yutti to make changelings of the humans at will even if they wanted to become werewolves.
