LOGINI jerked myself off his grip, smashing his face with my elbow. He groaned as blood oozed out from his nose, his hands curled up on his face.
“You’re trained. Didn’t see that coming.” He chuckled, wiping the blood with his hands.
“Tell me the truth, Alpha.” I groaned, still backing him to hide my face.
“You must be the cursed mate he was always talking about after his mate bond. He found out about how he would lose his power and become a mere Omega like you or, worse still, a human. He couldn’t risk it, so he killed himself; he didn’t wait for my sword of trust to swing by.” He burst into laughter.
“You’re sick.” I said in disgust. “Nice meeting you, by the way.”
“And where do you think you’re going?” He walked up to me, his sinister aura pulling me down. My heart began to race as his claws trailed my shoulder, placing cuts on my flesh.
“We’ll meet again, Alpha Ryu, but by then your head will be in my arms.” I bent down immediately, grabbing my mask and rolling off to put it on.
“You’re not getting away.” Strokes appeared in his eyes, his claws emerging stronger and sharper than before. His presence felt heavy like a dumbbell, holding me in place.
I picked up some soil, hurling it at him. A little got into his eyes, stopping him from moving forward; I took the chance, taking to my heels.
…The entire palace guard scrambled around the corners searching for the intruder that had attacked the Alpha-me. They matched through every hallway, checking everyone for a cut mark on the shoulder. I should have known he was onto something.
“Miss Samantha!” Missy cried as she walked in. I heard you were attacked and beaten up.
I held up a gloomy face, the red soil I had patched on my face making it believable by looks. She sighed, bringing me towards her. “You’ll be alright.”
“Everyone out, the Alpha has declared a public validation announcement.” Kyle, Ryu’s gamma spat as he walked into the room.
He had this Incandescent aura just like Ryu, but his was much more concrete, filled with cruelty and bitterness. He had gone through the worst of things on the war grounds.
We walked out of the room, walking straight to the hall. The entire pack had assembled, everyone frightened by the urgent call.
“Deadly fangs!!!” Ryu yelled.
Everyone in the pack began to howl, drums began to beat, and the torches began to light up. My heart began to beat; I could feel the danger looking around growing stronger and stronger.
“Today I was attacked by one of our very own, and one of my maidens was wounded in the process. The attacker had tried to escape, but thanks to Kyle, we caught her before she could abscond with her blue cloak.” He snapped his fingers, and two scouts walked in with a lady in their hands.
I clenched my fist as they slowly took off her cloak, her identity being revealed. “Sasha?”
“She’s the mate of my personal assistant, who took his own life. She’s cursed; he couldn’t take it, and he also couldn’t reject her for fear of being cursed. He took his own life, but he made it clear who he wanted to take over for him.” Ryu signaled to Kyle, who walked up to her with his sword out of its case.
“No one attacks the Alpha and lives, not even a cursed omega.”
“You must be mistaken; I just wanted to try out the cloak I found in the bin. I’m not the one you’re looking for.” She cried.
Slash!
“Ahhhhh!” Some of the maidens screamed as she fell to the floor, her blood flowing out like a river.
“I would like to make an announcement.” Ryu’s fierce voice brought me back to reality. His gaze was directed towards me.
He began. "With the passing of my personal assistant, whose mate's bond with the perpetrator caused this, I would like to take this opportunity to appoint a new wolf.”
I observed the surroundings, and to my surprise, no one was wailing anymore. They were all filled with laughter and joy, acknowledging Sasha as a criminal.
Kyle, on the other hand, was standing firm with his sword dripping with blood. I could see the grin on his face as Ryu scouted the area for the next personal assistant.
“Miss Samantha over here shall now take charge as my personal assistant.”
I rose up, walking towards Ryu with clenched fists. I was going to kill him and bring his head back home as a gift to my father. He was going to get it—a taste of his own medicine.
“Miss Samantha, are you alright?” Ryu asked, taking my hand in his.
“I am fine. There’s nothing to worry about,” I assured.
“Anyone who disrespects Miss Samantha automatically disrespects me. That I shall not tolerate.”
Ryu grabs a gem from his pocket, placing it in the middle of my breasts. I was about to hit his hand away from myself when a wave of tingling sensation suddenly erupted in me, making me weak in the thighs. I had never felt like this before; maybe it was because I had never been touched by a man.
“Miss Samantha… Miss Samantha,” Ryu’s voice reached out to me, his hand trailing around my waistline.
“What happened to me?” I asked, slowly regaining consciousness.
“I have no idea, but it’s something that has never happened in years.”.
My vision returned, and Ryu’s charming face welcomed me. I could see the stars staring at me, my legs positioned in an awkward way.
“Is it crazier than a mission?” I blurted out unconsciously.
“I’m not sure about that, but it seems you’re in a huge mess.” Ryu’s words sent me flying off his arms.
I stared at the crowd, everyone staring at me like I was some criminal.
“Alpha Ryu, kindly withdraw her position. She isn’t like the rest of us; we don’t even know what she is.” Kyle growled, ready to attack at any moment.
“The Gem slid right through her calves. Is she really from this pack? No one has the ability to take in such a gem and talk less of absorbing the power. Who is she?” members of the pack began to drop their opinions of me.
“Enough. There’s nothing to be afraid of, Ryu let out, his hand still on my waistline.
“What’s the assurance that she’s not an intruder?”
“Yeah, what if she was sent to question your authority?” Maybe this was her plan all along.”
“Why don’t we just execute her? If the gem is inside her, a sword shouldn’t be able to cause any damage.”
“Execute her! Execute her!”
Ryu's POVThe weight of silence pressed down on me like a suffocating shroud as I stood alone in the shadowed room, my breath shallow, my heart pounding against my ribs like a frantic drum. My mind was a storm of paranoia and desperation, swirling uncontrollably. My pack was bleeding from wounds no one else saw—wounds inflicted by betrayal, weakness, and my own mistakes.I had lost too many.My assistants, once loyal, were now liabilities. I had no choice but to sever those ties, cold and ruthless, because trust was a currency I could no longer afford.I needed someone who understood me, someone who could stand strong beside me when the darkness closed in.Samantha was the only one left in my fractured world. My Luna. My hope. The decision burned in my chest with a fierce clarity. She was the key to everything—the salvation of my pack, the strength I lacked. Bringing her back wasn’t just a plan; it was a necessity carved from the depths of my desperation. I had to save her, no matte
The courtroom reeked of blood-soaked power and silent betrayals. Thick stone walls rose around me like a cage designed not just to hold a body, but to crush a soul. The silver shackles burned against my skin, branding me a traitor, a killer, a Luna Slayer.I was forced to kneel before the throne-like benches of the Elder Council, my bones grinding against the cold marble floor while the echo of ancient chants still clung to the ceilings. A thousand pairs of eyes bore down on me—some with hatred, some with curiosity, but none with mercy. I was no longer a princess of bloodlines, nor a Luna of destiny. In their eyes, I was nothing more than a condemned wolf waiting to be put down. And yet, I did not weep. I did not beg. I lifted my chin as my knees trembled, refusing to give them the pleasure of watching me break.Above me, the Elders perched like vultures circling a dying beast, their expressions carved from centuries of judgment and political games. Their long robes swept the groun
The passage was narrower than I expected. Cold and damp, the air stank of rust, sweat, and old blood. My fingers brushed against the rough stone walls as I followed the jagged path illuminated only by the dim flicker of a dying torch I’d swiped from the western corridor. The martyr’s map burned faintly against my palm, a magical artifact etched in shimmering ink—written with the blood of those who had died trying to escape. Their final wish now guided me.I couldn’t stop moving. Every heartbeat was a countdown. Every footstep, a risk.“I can do this,” I whispered to myself, repeating the lie until it sounded true. The underground tunnels twisted beneath the prison like a coiled serpent, riddled with traps and dead ends. I made every turn according to the blood-bound markings, careful not to make noise. Above, guards’ boots echoed faintly, unaware—or so I hopped—of the rat weaving through their foundations. Then I heard it.A click.Instinct screamed. I threw myself sideways just
The walls felt like they were closing in on me, and I knew that it wasn’t just the confinement that suffocated me—it was the crushing weight of truth that I couldn’t escape, no matter how hard I tried. Fifty-seven days. Fifty-seven days of being trapped, not just in this stone cell, but in the shadow of a truth I didn’t want to confront. The air, thick and stale, smelled of dust and regret, but there was something else now—a charge, like the quiet before a storm. The hairs on my neck stood on end, and the space seemed to pulse with a low, steady hum. My senses had sharpened. The taste of the air felt sharper, the sounds of distant footsteps more pronounced, and there, deep in my bones, I could feel it—the slow rise of something ancient, something that had been dormant for too long. I wasn’t the same as I had been before.I wasn’t just surviving anymore.I was changing, and though I hadn’t yet fully understood it, I knew this change wasn’t one I could turn back from. The map lay i
I woke early, the cold steel of the cot pressing against my back as I shifted in my sleep. But sleep hadn’t truly come last night. Not with the voice echoing through my mind like a phantom haunting my every thought. It wasn’t like any voice I had heard before, and yet it felt so familiar. A cold, detached whisper that lingered, vibrating through my soul. "I know who you are." The words had rolled through me, chilling my very core, leaving me unable to grasp their full meaning. I wasn’t sure if it was real or if it was just my mind playing tricks on me, but it felt as if something much deeper was at play. Something far more dangerous than I could even imagine. My fingers brushed my forehead as I sat up slowly. The stale prison air was thick with the scent of sweat and metal. My hands trembled slightly, still feeling the lingering echoes of the voice. A chill ran down my spine, and I stood, taking a shaky breath to steady myself. The world outside my cell felt strangely distant to
The morning light filtered weakly through the small barred window above my cell, casting long shadows against the cold stone floor. The world outside the prison walls felt so distant, as if it belonged to a different life, a different version of myself. I was no longer sure who I was anymore. After everything that had been revealed—the prophecy, my true heritage—I felt as though I was drowning in a sea of secrets and lies. I wasn’t just any prisoner. I was a hybrid. The key to stopping my father. But the weight of that truth felt like an anchor pulling me deeper into the darkness. How could I possibly fight the very man who had destroyed everything I knew? I sat up slowly, my hands trembling slightly as I touched the crescent mark that glowed faintly behind my ear. This is who I am, I reminded myself. But even as I thought it, doubt gnawed at my insides. Am I strong enough? The day felt long and oppressive, filled with the kind of silence that echoed in my ears. I walked across t
