Chapter 08

Darking is a city inhabited by the majority of magicians, they live there away from the ordinary human population to avoid rebellion or hostility. The city is like most cities in the world, except that all the residents are more focused on developing their magic.

They used to live in peace and prosperity under Robert's leadership. He is obliged to lead and ensure that all residents are safe, therefore Robert had a plan to give Violetta to the vampire nation because it was to protect its residents. But he won't be able to do it, because Violetta is the daughter he loves the most.

The sun has just come out of its hiding place, and the witches in the city are already doing their respective activities. The children go to a special magic school founded by Robert, they don't just learn about magic. But also about other general subjects.

Meanwhile, at Robert's house, the man was still in his favorite chair while facing a magic ball that could observe the entire city. Robert's strength is indeed great.

"Today, it's time for me to face them. If I wasn't there, I'd be calmer because I've made sure that Violetta is safe with that man," Robert muttered with a faint smile growing on his face.

His eyes kept staring at the magic ball closely like he was watching something. Not long after, Robert closed his eyes for a moment while taking a deep breath. now or I will kill you!" shouted someone with a very booming voice.

That voice was enough for Robert to know who was shouting at him, without wanting to prolong the problem. Robert got up from his chair and staggered out of his house carrying his reliable wand.

Robert just came out, he already saw the witches were dealing with the vampires. Robert clenched his fists, who knows when this will end. Robert is tired of dealing with vampires.

"Hey, you guys! What you're looking for is me, don't hurt them!" shouted Robert in a loud voice, there was no fear at all in him.

The five vampires stopped attacking their prince's instructions, while Edward-the vampire prince turned to look at Robert with a trivial look. He walked over to Robert with a slanted smile on his face, Edward is indeed known as a fearless vampire prince, he was also very cruel.

"Where did you hide that girl with holy blood, huh?" Edward snapped.

Robert laughed in response and then said, "Even until I die, I will never say where my daughter is. You and your father have no right to that sacred blood!"

After saying that out loud, Robert attacked Edward with all his might. Meanwhile, the four of Edward's men returned to face Robert's wizards.

"You damn man! You'd better just die!" Edward shouted and continued to attack Robert mercilessly, he didn't care that the opponent was an old man. screeched Robert, laughing.

Edward growled, he did not accept Robert saying that about his father. He uses his powers to attack Robert, knocking Robert to the ground. Not only that, Edward also used his strength to attack Robert again.

But Ribet didn't want to give up, he quickly got up from his seat swinging his wand to fight Edward's strength. The blue light from Robert's wand competes with Edward's red power. They were both strong, but Edward's subordinates suddenly attacked him at the same time making Robert lose focus. Finally, Edward's strength hit his chest.

"Arghh!" moaned Robert clutching his chest which felt hot and sore from Edward's attack, he fell back to the ground.

"Lord Robert!" The wizards who were there shouted seeing Robert hanging helpless, they wanted to help but didn't have enough courage and strength.

While Edward laughed, very satisfied to see the old man dying in front of him. "Don't let anyone help him! Or you will have the same fate as him!" he shouted.

All the witches retreated slowly because they were afraid of the threat from Edward, none of them dared to come closer.

Robert's breath started to hitch, he started to lose consciousness. Robert smiled faintly looking at the sky, he already felt as if this was the end of his life. Robert just didn't think that he would have to die like this, what Robert regrets more is that he won't be able to protect Violetta after this.

"Violetta," Robert muttered with tears flowing from the corners of his eyes. not satisfied because Robert is not dead yet. Wanted to attack him again, but one of his men stopped him.

"No, she will die after this. Don't get your hands dirty by serving an old man like him, we'd better go into his house and find out where the girl is now," explained the man.

Edward thought wait a minute, there is truth in what his subordinate just said. Then Edward nodded, then walked in with one of his subordinates. While the other three waited outside to keep watch.

After Edward entered, Violetta's friend Liona ran through and approached Robert. No matter if he will be killed or fight with the vampire, Liona already considers Robert as her father in her eyes.

Robert held Liona's hand that was about to treat him, then the old man shook his head while saying, "No, my life is not long. I can't continue to hold on now." Robert's weak point was his chest, and Edward's great strength worked on his chest. Making Robert die right now.

"No, you have to stay alive! Who will lead this city?" Liona shouted hysterically, she Couldn't bear to see Robert in such a condition.

Robert smiled. "There are still many great magicians here, I only have one message for you," he said softly.

"What?" asked Liona softly, unable to hold back her tears anymore.

"T-Tell Violetta, tell her to be careful. Tell her I love her so much, and she can't even give up on a vampire. Tell her that, Liona," answered Robert with panting breath.

Liona's tears broke when she saw Robert slowly close his eyes. Liona immediately checked Robert's pulse, but nothing, Robert was dead. That's when Liona's crying started dominating the place.

"Uncle! Wake up! Liona begs, please don't leave us," Liona shouts complete with bitter cries. The witches who heard Liona's scream also bowed their heads, of course, they were saddened by Robert's death.

"What if Violetta knew her father had died?" muttered Liona imagining how devastated Violetta would be when she found out.
