Chapter twenty-three: Her Fate.

Zoey was halted in the middle of the ball, all eyes were on her, most depicted hatred while some showed a hint of admiration and then hatred when they realized who she was.

She looked up despite trying hard not to and their eyes locked, she eyed him warily. This was a frightening man; she trusted him at her own peril. Best to keep silent and wait for his justice.

She immediately looked down, trying hard to control her heartbeat, they are werewolves, she shouldn't allow them to smell her fear of the unknown and uncertainty in her destiny. She must wait patiently and see what blow destiny had to offer her this time around.

She was aware, all the while, that Zach and everyone watched her. His face was dark with hidden thoughts, a brooding intensity that made her uneasy. What was it about him that always makes her uneasy?

Shook his thoughts out of her head. Brace yourself Zoey and stop being a chicken.

She cautioned herself and she felt herself relaxe
