The Academy is different now that my senses are heightened. The empty halls that seemed so big when I was younger now feel suffocating, and I can smell the blood that has been spilt here, everything has been cleaned, but I swear I can smell layer upon layer of blood. Gideon’s wolf is doing his best to stay beside me, but the hall is so thin that he’s forced behind more often than not. I’m exhausted, but I can’t stop. Stopping means my pup will get further away from me, and the Academy will have more time to hide him.
