One day, the first guard who stole my virginity came in with a stick thing. He told me I had to pee on it. I shook my head no. He grabbed me by the hair,
“I didn’t ask. If you want me to hurt you, keep arguing.”
I sat down on the toilet. He held the stick between my legs as I peed. He put the cover over the end. I sat there trying to figure out what he was waiting for. Finally, he picked up the stick.
“Damn it,” he roared. “You dirty whore, you got pregnant on purpose, didn’t you?”
Pregnant? I’m pregnant? I was excited, I could have my pup, and finally, someone will love me.
A couple of days later, A few guards came into my cell. I thought they were going to have their way with me. I didn’t care anymore. I would have my baby. I didn’t know what they were about to do. I got hit from behind with something. I fell to the ground. I covered my stomach with my arms. I will protect you, baby. One of the guards grabbed my arms pulling them above my head. The other guards started kicking me in the stomach. I cried and cried. When they finished beating me, I could barely move. I dragged myself to my mattress. I tried to focus, to will my baby to survive. I passed out. When I woke up, I had terrible pains in my abdomen. I went to use the bathroom when I finished, there was blood. A lot of it. I knew my baby was gone.
The guards continued taking turns with me. They didn’t care about my bleeding. A week later, the guard who tested me the first time, made me do another test. This time it was negative.
“That’s better,” he said. “None of us want a baby with a disgusting whore like you.”
I was devastated. The guard had his way with me and left. I didn’t eat for two weeks. One of the guards complained that my bones dug into him while he was fucking me. After that, the guards would sit and make me eat.
This went on for three long years. They would share me, get me pregnant, then beat me so I would lose the baby. When my twenty-first birthday came, the first guard brought me a cupcake. He then screwed me twice. One day, one of the guards was with me, I was angry because they had just caused a miscarriage again. When he finished, I kicked him in the balls. That didn’t go over well. They dragged me out of my cell. I was carried to this room where my arms were chained in different directions, same with my legs. They stripped me nude. I watched in horror as they brought out a whip. They whipped me, I felt my skin tear and blood. I screamed in pain, but they just laughed. I passed out, I don’t know what they did to me, but I woke up with my back burning, and the area between my legs was bruised. I wiped away a tear that fell from my eye. No, I will not cry. I will not give them the enjoyment. For a few more months, they screwed me. Once, two of them came in at the same time. I got pregnant again. They beat me until I lost the baby. I was so mad; they could at least let me have my baby! I had a plan. When the guard came in, I waited for him to finish, as he stuffed his member back in his pants, I lunged at him. I clawed him and sunk my teeth into his face!
He screamed as blood squirted from his cheek. The other guards came rushing in.
“She bit me! The bitch bit me!” he screamed still holding his face.
I laughed! After all these years of torment, I finally hurt one. I knew it earned a whipping. I hoped they kill me this time. I screamed as the whip tore open a wound. I could feel the blood racing down my body. I was shaking, I knew I was going into shock. They didn't care, they kept whipping me. I thought I heard someone come in.
I heard a loud growl. I was in and out of consciousness. I heard a voice ask what the hell was going on. I heard trembling voices say I had gotten pregnant again, so they took care of it. I heard a voice say I was a traitor. I heard another voice argue that I wasn’t. The guards said a name that wasn’t me. The deep voice said I wasn’t her because the voice had killed her. Then, I heard the deep voice say they had been raping and torturing his mate. I heard him say she is mine! I didn’t hear anything until I heard the sound of a blade and then I smelled blood. I assumed it was my blood, I was hoping I would die.
I heard someone yelling for a doctor. I felt my arms and legs drop. I felt my body being carried. I thought I was being put in my cell. I felt the light hit my eyes. I guess I really am dying. I tried to lift my head, but it hurt too much. I felt the darkness envelop me. Hello, sweet death.
A month later...
I woke up in a soft bed. I looked around trying to make my eyes focus. Where am I? I tried to sit up but the pain in my back caused me to scream. I lay back down against the pillows. I can’t be dead. You don’t feel pain when you're dead, right? I wanted to run. I wasn’t locked in a cell; I was in a giant bed. I looked under the blankets. I had on a silky nightgown. I knew what I had to do, I would run, I would get as far away as possible. I sat up, and the wounds on my back burned. I sat still letting them adjust to the new position. When the pain became bearable, I swung my legs over the side of the bed. I slid down landing on my feet. I carefully tip-toed to the door. I opened it a crack. I didn’t see anyone. I slowly squeezed out the door. I looked around. This place is huge. I saw the stairs. I took a couple of steps. I got to the top stair. Looking around, I quietly tip-toed down. When I reached the bottom, I saw a big set of double doors. I knew that had to be the way out. I pulled open the heavy door. Slipping outside, I didn’t see anyone. It had to be either really early, or really late. The darkness would provide cover for me so I could escape.
I took a last look around. Nobody. I took off full speed and headed for the tree line. I was almost there when someone stepped out in front of me. My injuries prevented me from my normal agility. I slipped, losing my balance, I fell into a uniform I recognized. A guard! No! Not again! I scrambled backward as my body shook violently.
“Luna? Luna why are you out here?”
Why was the guard calling me Luna? I’m not a Luna. I turned to run.
“Luna, wait!” the guard called after me.
No, no, no, I won’t go back. My body was still shaking. I could barely keep my legs under me. I felt myself fall. I tried to catch myself, but I fell to the ground. I knew I was caught. My body had betrayed me for all the times I didn’t stop the guards, and for all the times, I let them kill my babies. I curled into the fetal position. I locked my arms around my knees and hid my face.
I heard running footsteps. I heard the deep voice from the prison ask someone why his mate is outside instead of resting in bed.
I didn’t understand. Who is he talking to, and who is his mate? I’m the only one out here, I am not anyone’s mate, I am too damaged. I am certainly not a Luna.
I felt two strong arms pick me up. I wouldn’t let go of my knees.
“It’s ok my little mate. I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again.” The deep voice was soothing. I wasn’t sure why.
I wanted to know who the source of this voice was. I refused to look. I would not look at the person who would make me well, just to torture me again. I knew this was just a ploy. As soon as I started to get well, I would be put back in my cell. They would torture me, make me pregnant, then kill my baby. I tried to hide the tears. I thought I would be dead by now. Why am I alive.
I was carried back inside. I felt the voice's movement as he climbed the stairs with me in his arms. I wouldn't look. What if he saw me look and then beat me? No, I wouldn't, I squeezed my eyes shut tighter. I felt him place me on the bed. My body shook as I waited for whatever punishment I would receive for running away. I felt the blanket move, it was pulled up over me. I wanted to grab it. I wanted it snug around me, maybe I could hold onto it tight enough that I could be left alone.
I didn't move. I thought I would be in big trouble if I moved. I lay there listening. It was quiet except for someone's breathing. I stayed still. I stayed like that for a long time. My body hurt from holding myself in the same position for so long. I didn't care. Maybe this voice thought I was stuck like this, maybe that's why he wasn't trying to force me to do anything. I tried to listen for changes in the voice's breathing. If he fell asleep, I could run again. I could at least hide. I lay there silent. I could hear him move every now and again. He was still close. Maybe this is my new punishment? Maybe I was supposed to stay here, listening, waiting to be beaten? If this was to be a punishment, it was working. I heard his breathing start to even out, and light snores followed. I listened for any changes. I wouldn't fall for a trick. I think he's asleep, I roll over and look, I get beaten. I finally got the courage to look.

Alpha Draven POV What had they done to my mate? My beautiful little mate. I had gone to the dungeon to see the prisoners. I wanted to go before I was called away, but the war of the packs would not wait for me. I had ordered the prisoner they found living in a cave, to be taken care of instead, my guards had tortured, raped, beaten, whipped, and impregnated my mate before beating her to cause miscarriage. How had my guards, wolves I trusted ever thought I would order them to do that? When I returned, I headed into the prison. I wanted to finally set the innocents free. When I opened the door, the scent of blood and sex was so thick, that I was nearly sick. Among the horrid smell, came the sweet scent of sage and lavender. Mate! My wolf purred. I could feel her nearby. I came to a cell that disgusted me. There was blood everywhere, a bloody dirt-covered mattress lay in the corner. I froze when I realized her scent was mixed in with the blood and filth in this cell. My wolf howled as I
She decided that was enough. She put my hand back in my lap. She stood there watching me. She picked up my hand again; She interlaced her fingers with mine; I let her hold my hand. She sat like this for a few minutes. When she let go, I watched as she pulled the blanket off the bed. She took a pillow and dropped it on the blanket. She made what looked like a little nest. She picked up my hand and pulled on it. “You want me to get up?” She nodded yes. I stood up. I didn’t want to move unless she wanted me to. She pulled me toward the bed. I was confused as to what she was doing. She pushed me towards the bed again, and when my legs hit the mattress, she turned me to face her. I looked at her trying to figure out what she was thinking. Without warning, she pushed me back onto the bed. “Whoa!” Shit, I looked at her; she was frozen in place. I had scared her. “I’m sorry, you scared me.” She giggled. It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. I stayed sitting on the edge of the
I settled into my chair. I was so tired. It had been a long night. I finally fell into a deep sleep. I awoke in the morning to find I couldn’t move. To my surprise, Aura had curled up in my lap and gone to sleep. Maybe I had a breakthrough with her. I gently picked her up. I walked over to the bed, gently putting her down. I needed to change. I checked to make sure she was still sleeping. When I was sure, I kissed her gently on the temple before heading to my room. The last 24 hours had been a whirlwind. As I stepped into my room, I didn’t notice the black heels on the floor. I walked to my closet as a voice called to me. “Draven, where have you been? I missed you.” Dahlia’s voice echoed through my ears. “What are you doing here? I told you, I found my mate. I don’t need you anymore.” I growled. “Draven don’t be like that. Everyone knows Alphas can reject their mates easily and take another one. I know you love what I do to you.” She reached out putting her hand on my chest, she tr
She took my hand giving it a tug. I followed her. We walked for about an hour. We came upon a road I recognized. It was one that led to my packhouse. She stopped by a drainage ditch. I looked across, noticing the grocery store my pack owned. This particular store had started losing a case or two of canned goods every so often. I had assumed they had simply been miscounted. She crossed the street heading for the grocery store. I followed her in. The cashier tried to greet me but, I shook my head no. He went back to watching Aura. She reached in the pocket of the dirty tattered shorts she had on. To my surprise, she pulled out two twenty-dollar bills. She stuck them in the hand of the confused cashier.“Miss, would you like to buy something?”She shook her head no. He tried to hand the money back to her. She closed his fingers over the money before pushing his hand back. The cashier looked at me questioningly. It clicked what she was doing, I couldn’t help the chuckle which escaped me.
I was so confused. I thought for a second. “Ok, Aura, you can get in.” She took a few steps forward before stepping over the edge of the tub. She lowered herself carefully into the warm water. I handed her the soap. She sniffed it and handed it back. She looked at me waiting. I rolled up my sleeves, “Ok, you ready?” I asked. She nodded. After I had washed her body and hair, I helped her out of the tub. I wrapped a fuzzy towel around her. She picked up the brush from the edge of my sink. She handed it to me. She sat down on the floor, I sat behind her. I brushed through her long silky hair. She had used my soap, my scent on her made my wolf a bit calmer. I braided her hair for her. When I was finished, I stood up. She followed. I had a large shelf in my room of books my father had given me. She noticed it in the corner. She looked at me then back. Her face alight. ‘Would you like to have one?” I asked noticing her excitement. She nodded yes.“You can take whichever one you want.” She s
Delmor arrived after Jed left. "Delmor, I need you to take notes on what is said here today. I need to be sure I have all the information needed before I start ordering death for those involved in hurting Aura." Aura woke up when I said her name. She came to me, climbing on my lap, I could feel her trembling. At least she was comfortable enough with me to seek me out if she was scared. When I smiled at her, she started wrapping herself around me. We waited, I was growing impatient when there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I growled. I hated to be kept waiting. The door opened as the infamous Gretta stepped into my office.I felt Aura’s heartbeat pick up when she laid eyes on Gretta, but she didn’t tremble.Gretta looked nervous. “Please, have a seat.” I offered. Aura was still curled up in my lap. Delmor sat to the right, and Gretta to the left.“You are Gretta?” I already knew the answer.“Yes. Alpha.” She kept looking at Aura who was currently hiding her face in my neck.I as
The next morning, Aura was once again curled up sleeping in my lap. I didn't want to move but I needed the bathroom. "Aura, Aura wake up." I gently shook her shoulder. She opened her eyes. To my surprise, she didn't get scared when she realized my hand was on her shoulder. She looked around, stretching. She stood up letting me get up. I told her I would be back in a minute. She watched me walk out the door. I came back a few minutes later, but she was gone. Panic set in as I looked for her. I checked the closet, the floorboards, and all the spots I thought she would hide. She was not in this room. I linked my guards asking if anyone had seen her. No one had. I was getting really worried now. I started down the hall, I opened every door whether it went to a closet, bathroom, whatever, I had to find her. My heartbeat picked up every time a room was empty. I got to the door to my bedroom, I didn't think she would be in there. I looked in quickly before shutting the door again. I stopped.
"I missed you," Her tiny little voice said. I didn't hear her voice very often. It was like a treat when I did. She looked up at me, a huge smile plastered to her face. Her smile melted away, replaced with a look of confusion; she asked "you like Aura?" she watched my face for any sign of anger."I like Aura, I love Aura." I looked deeply into her eyes. She smiled as she turned her head away. I could see her cheeks turning red.I didn't want her to think I was staring so I picked up my book. I turned to the page my bookmark was on, I pretended to start reading but the book was pulled from my hands. I looked up knowing who had taken it. She stood there, I could see the fear in her eyes but there was something else there too. She had left my pillow on the bed. I rested my hands on my lap. I didn't know what she was doing but I knew how much courage it was taking for her. Ever so slowly, she leaned towards me. I still didn't move. She rested her hand on the arm of my chair, leaning cl
