Sam’s POV

I’m sure it was Ellie I saw. She stood out among the crowd in her yellow dress; she was like a beacon of hope. “Ellie, Ellie!” I screamed to her as I was dragged through a doorway by my hair. But when the door slammed shut, I feared she didn’t see or hear me. It didn’t stop crying out for help, though. I thrashed about and screamed, hoping someone, anyone, could help me. But no one heard me, or if they did, they didn’t come to help.

“Oh, shut up. No one is going to help a filthy, pathetic rogue like you,” Evelyn spat at me.

I screamed, even though it felt like my hair was going to be pulled out by whoever was dragging me. “I may be a rogue, but I am a nice person. You’re ugly inside and out.”

“Status counts for everything in our world. No matter how you look. Status means power.” She smirked.

I was dragged until it felt my hair was about to be ripped out of my head. Then, when the night air hit me, I was thrown from some steps and landed on someone. I kept my focus on Eve

Ellie’s POV I ran after Reagan as he went into the garage. He seemed to know something I didn’t.Everywhere I looked, there were lots of gorgeous new cars. But there in the distance, sticking out like a sore thumb, was a truck that looked just like mine. As I followed Reagan, I realized it was my truck, and someone had hurt her. It was not only shocking to see that my vehicle was there, but that someone had smashed the window. “What the hell happened to my truck?” I yelled. I love this truck, and someone has hurt her.“I’ll explain later,” Reagan said as he climbed into a car next to it. I was unhappy as I wanted him to explain now. But I followed suit. I was wondering how he was going to drive with a prosthetic. But my curiosity didn’t seem to stop him from getting behind the wheel. As soon as my butt touched the seat, Reagan put the car in drive. Just as he gripped the steering wheel, ready to drive, Phillip jumped in front of the car, hitting the bonnet. Regan lowered his window.

Ellie’s POV “Ellie, Ellie. Wake up,” a familiar voice called my name while shaking me. Kiki growled. “What happened?” I asked as I opened my eyes to see Reagan with a concerned look on his face. “I’m sorry. It was the only way to stop you,” he said apologetically. I was about to ask him what he was talking about when Kiki spoke.“He must have been the one to mark you,” Kiki informed me before growling again. I was shocked. Marking someone without their consent, Reagan wouldn’t do that. Would he? I reached up and touched my neck, and there were several small lumps. Signifying he had.I thrashed out of his arms, yelling at him to get off me. I landed on the ground and touched my neck again. Still not believing he had done something so intimate to me. I pushed myself to my feet. Which was when everything came back to me. Sam, in such a humiliated and beaten state, the feeling of my anger was escalating into an uncontrollable rage, before blacking out.Kiki wanted to rip Reagan apart

Reagan’s POV Reviewing the pictures Xander sent to Caspian. We discussed each picture in depth. It was evident that an animal killed Richard. Considering what he was investigating, I wondered if he was getting too close to discovering the truth or if he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.We must have been looking at the screen for well over an hour when I got up, needing a break from the screen. That was when I saw how stressed Caspian looked. The frown line across his brow told me how burdened he was. “Are you okay?” I asked full well, knowing that he wasn’t. He looked at me and shook his head, tears filling his eyes.“It’s all going to shit. Reagan. I don’t know how to process what is going on. Everything was on track with Sam, and now Evelyn does this to me. ” He told me honestly.I looked at him. “If Evelyn is pregnant with your child, Caspian. You will do the right thing by the child. You will need to tell Sam before the ceremony. Of everything you are keeping from

Sam’s POV My arms were held behind my back, preventing me from moving. A crowd of well-dressed people surrounded me.“You don’t need Ellie, Sam,” Zola assured me.“I do. I do.” I sobbed as I disagreed with her.“Sam, snap out of it!” she yelled at me.“You are not the naive girl you once were. You have grown, you’re stronger, you’re independent. Stand up for yourself. Show them you’re not the pushover you once were.” Zola yelled, and she was right. I’ve come so far since I left the Shadow Pack. I may not yet be as strong as Ellie. However, I will never be if I continue relying on others to fight my battles for me.Despite being restrained, Zola’s words gave me confidence. “Give him my pendant,” I yelled confidently at Lily, who was standing by Evelyn. Lily looked at Evelyn and played with her necklace. “She believes my necklace is hers. It’s a family heirloom of mine, passed down for generations. I don’t know what she’s talking about. After all, she’s nothing but a dirty, filthy thie

Sam’s POV I sprinted to the shower right after Sasha walked out the door. In my current state, wearing such a beautiful ceremonial gown was out of the question. It would be like disrespecting Caspian’s mother. Which is something I would never do. There wasn’t much time, so I quickly jumped in the shower before it was warm, carefully avoiding getting my hair wet. There would be no chance for me to dry it before I had to meet Ellie and Caspian in the gardens. I was drying off in front of the mirror and suddenly felt insecure about my appearance. “What does Caspian see in me?” I asked my reflection. All I could see was a woman whose body hadn’t fully grown yet. And even then, that body is scared. “Is it just the mate bond Caspian loves the idea of?” “Stop putting yourself down. Caspian loves you for who you are,” Zola barked at me. I knew she was right. The mate bond may have brought us together, but we chose this. We chose each other forever. My change of mood made Zola happy. Aft
