Chapter 51 (Deonna) – Back to School

Today was the day I was going back to school; we had a 2-week break, but now it was back to open the books and learning. I was nervous and excited all at the same time.

Marlon told me that he no longer wanted me to stay in the shack because he worried for our safety; and now that Beatrice was aware of the situation with Mateo and Marlon’s relation to the whole ordeal, he no longer wanted me to work under her. As much as he trusted his head maid, he worried she would try to do something stupid to save her own skin, despite the threat that Alex left for her.

So, Mateo and I have been staying in the manor once again. He set up the guest bedroom, the one I stayed in before Mateo was born, with a crib and some equipment for Mateo and me. That was going to be my new bedroom for a while.

I was also going to keep working as Marlon’s handmaiden; however, he hasn’t really given me any actual tasks. I don’t think he expects me to do much of anything besides taking care of Mateo. Which I didn’t m
