***Auri’s POV***

Over the next few months, we dealt with the increasing rogue attacks. None of them were as big as the one the day of Ty’s baby shower, but they were still exhausting. Logan wouldn’t let me out though to help in the field. Instead, I took up my place at his desk in taking care of all the pack and business paperwork. I had become well versed in everything that had to do with his businesses. He trusted me now to just take care of it if I felt comfortable doing so. But as the months went on, I felt increasing anxious about Morgan.

The High Council was not fun. They were a collection of overseers, or they liked to think of themselves as protectors of the peace between supernatural beings and even humans. They liked to make decisions, thinking that they were making them on behalf of their entire race. But corruption was deep and you had beings who were over a thousand years old.
