I observed as Adira approached the grumbling and despondent Emily, gently grasping her shoulder. "Who's that girl? Doesn't she realize who you are?"

"Mom," Emily whimpered.

"Let's take a moment to calm down, and then you can tell me who she is. I know you well enough to understand that you don't just dislike people for no reason, so it must be something the girl did." Adira comforted Emily with a reassuring pat on the back.

Receiving no immediate response from Emily, Adira gestured towards the sofa in the hall. "Come, let's sit down first."

Uninterested in listening to Emily's complaints, I flashed a smile at Alpha Ryker. "I'll be heading upstairs now."

Alpha Ryker offered no objection, simply nodding. Just as I turned to leave, I caught sight of Zeeb.

Zeeb glanced at me, sighing softly. "Shouldn't you wait and see until they leave?"
