登入He grabbed my waist. There was nothing left to see except darkness. Why are you doing this to me? I asked. He laughed scornfully. Because I derive pleasure in seeing pain. Then all of a sudden he push me to the wallMy back bumped into the wall. My mouth was wrapped in his hands making it hard for me to scream. He pulled me down to the floor and held my wrist. Tears fell down my eyes. I knew this was the end.I made up my mind to kill myself instead of bearing such shame. He let out another loud laughter. Are you seriously waiting for me to get in?I didn’t resist immediately. I waited. I planned and listened. He carried me up from the floor. Took my hands and placed them beside me.My breathing became heavily. So you like it this close with a man? Do you feel some rhythm in you body when I hold you?He came closer than before. Now it was not the breathing of someone about to fight. His left hand held my hands while he used his right hand to slap my face. Then came a soft voice, fro
The scout at last said something. There was total silence in the hall. But Kieran spoke up."Speak." The scout swallowed hard, before delivering his message.“Lucan says: ‘Tell Kieran this exact message.’”Pause. “‘Ana Ciaron is in Greenwood.’”That was my name. Clear and distinct.Unmistakable. The scout went on.“‘I know that she is there.’” Silence descended immediately. And then came the last message.“‘Do not confuse silence with safety.’”He finished speaking. No explanation was given. Not one more word.Just that message. Kieran did not react right away. Not until another warrior walked into the hall. The warrior rushed forward. “Alpha Kieran.” Kieran turned to him.“Report.” The warrior did not hesitate to speak.“Movement has been detected at the eastern border.”Pause… “We have found new tracks. More than one entrance point. Structured formation.”There was a shift in the hall. Kieran spoke in a steady tone. "How close?""Close enough to be monitoring patrol cycles undetect
The doors burst open. Then a loud noise reverberated throughout the hallway as a warning sign. All heads turned in unison towards the door. Suddenly a Greenwood scout stumbles inside the building.Blood was seeping through his tattered armor and dripping from it to the floor with every lurching step. One arm dangled more than the other; he couldn't use it. The scout breathed in gasps; every breath seemed to be stolen in half. There was a long pause. And then the warrior took another step. Before I knew what was going on he rumpled to the floor. Noisily. The noise shattered the silence.Panic erupted immediately. "Move!" " Call the Healer urgently! ""Make room!". Everyone rushed towards the fallen scout, but only Kieran's words were heard above the pandemonium."Stay Back!." In one word, everyone stepped back. Even the elders, and myself, no one moved.Only Rose moved where she was, near the border of the room. The scout screamed in pain as he touched his deep wounded body. He appea
The silence in my room felt alive, pressing against the walls. It wasn't peaceful or safe. Just waiting. I had a restless night, I stayed motionless for ages after the voices outside went quiet. Alpha Kieran, the elders, warriors, all of them disappeared in a hurry, like something big had spooked them. Whatever had everyone on edge, it got me locked in my tiny barracks room with no explanation. I gripped the blanket tighter. I hated that I cared. The problem was I didn't know what to do with those feelings. More minutes ticked by. Nothing. No knock. No explanation. Just this oppressive quietness that made every creak and groan of the old building louder than it ought to be. Finally, distant footsteps. Slow and consistent. Not the panicked rush from before. It stopped right outside my door. I held my breath. Then someone tapped on the door. Gently. Not urgent, it was measured and controlled. I hesitated but asked who it was. "The guard," came the reply. The door opened
The door swung open. Rose walked in.The atmosphere of the room transformed as soon as she appeared as if it could feel that she fit into it better than I did.Her eyes flitted across the room, not lingering on the room itself, or even on me, but on the empty space where Kieran had been a mere minutes prior. She didn’t question me, nor demand an explanation. Instead, she stared, as if affirming a suspicion she had come to form.Next, her eyes traveled back to mine.“I saw you,” she stated. There was something cutting about her tone despite its measured restraint.“Through the window.” I couldn’t respond right away, my body still strained from the pain that had occurred throughout the day.Rose made her way deeper into the room without any invitation.“That is Alpha Kieran,” she continued.A slight pause. “And I know what I witnessed.”My hand clenched involuntarily against my side. She tilted her head. “You do not belong in his territory.”The silence was thick and heavy. Not awkward
Darkness seemed to creep towards me gradually. Distant sounds could be heard somewhere around me, but none of them was audible enough to make out. My body seemed to be weightless and heavily burdened at once; exhaustion had taken me to a place of semi-sleep state. Warmth was then pressed against me. It was powerful and strong, i could not comprehend the sensation. Then I felt it, I'm being carried. The recognition cut through the darkness, allowing some awareness. I heard some Tramping footsteps in soggy ground and beneath all of those noises came the consistent heartbeat that did not belong to me. I managed to open my eyes slightly. The surroundings were blurry first. Grey skies, black tree tops, wolves walking beside me. But then it cleared up enough to know what was happening. I was in Alpha Kieran’s embrace. Horror gripped me with such intensity that I stiffened immediately. “I can walk,” I said hoarsely. Kieran didn’t even bother stopping. “You won’t,” he said. Softly.
