Chapter 20

RACHAEL'S POV

I woke up disoriented in a gorgeously decorated room with soft pink walls. The air smelled faintly of roses, but it was quickly overshadowed by the pain in my thigh as I tried to sit up.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed, feeling a sharp twinge in my leg. I lifted the duvet, revealing a bandage tightly wound around my injured thigh. "What happened? Why am I hurt?"

As the throbbing pain in my head intensified, the memories flooded back. "I remember now. I was in the woods, and a woman shot me with an arrow!" I gasped, my voice filled with a mixture of fear and disbelief.

I struggled to my feet and made my way to the locked doors. "Damn, they're locked!" I murmured, frustration seeping into my voice. The windows offered no escape either, as they too were locked shut. Through the glass, I could see the surrounding trees, confirming my suspicions that I was still stranded in the woods.

As I paced around the room, my eyes fell upon a framed photograph resting on a nearby dresser. I picked
